There is no "minimum" score. GRE scores from all applicants are assembled in rank order; however the GRE score is only one component of the application and other factors, in particular undergraduate performance, weigh heavily in the decision process.

We look very closely at test scores because we have found that to some degree, successful completion of the doctoral coursework and thesis research is highly predicted by strong scores on these tests. When should I apply? The deadline for fall admission is May 15, but we start admitting students early in February. Applications that are received after we have started the admission process have a reduced chance of admission because there will be fewer open positions remaining. That is not to say an applicant would not gain admission if they had a slightly lower score; the admissions committees make their decision based on the total application rather than one particular aspect of it.
