The latest software for the PORTADISC MDP 500 is version 1.50. The version is shown briefly after power up on the MDP’s boot-up page. If your MDP contains a version other than v1.50, contact your dealer for instructions on getting your MDP updated to the current release.

If you are looking for the latest beta version, these releases are posted on the kX Forums. It is only recommended for experienced users to try these experimental releases. Please read our Known Issues page before sending us any questions.

The lastest firmware version is "Version 1.0.4". If you are running an older firmware version, you should consider upgrading your camera by downloading the latest code from Kodak. It is not definitely necessary to update the firmware unless your computer does encounter any problem.

Currently, no "first" or "second generation" drives have been shipped with the new firmware version factory installed. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that your drive will already be equiped with this new version. However, the firmware installation utilitity will check and display you current firmware version, and will notify you when your firmware is already up-to-date.

Early S2000 readers used an EEPROM that became obsolete and the socket was changed. These readers cannot be upgraded. We do not sell the EEPROMS but for later readers (Firmware v 1.32 or later), you may be able to get a third party to copy the EEPROM. The EEPROM is ATMEL AT27C512R.

Whenever you download the latest version of WinTally, it will contain the latest version of MicroTally firmware.
