Is there an advantage to a tinted sealer versus a clear sealer?

Nothin' But Decks - Custom Decks and Design - On the Cutting...
The primary function of a sealer is to protect against the negative effects of rain and to deter the growth of mold and mildew (primarily North facing decks where it does not receive enough sunlight to kill them off). There is an added advantage to having a color tint in your sealer. If you are not crazy about having a grey deck, you will need to purchase a tinted color sealer. Clear sealers, although effective against rain and mildew, will not stop against the greying effect of the sun.

Musical Instrument Makers Forum miniFAQ: Acoustic Guitar Mak...
No, you do not. It was Bob Taylor who said, "A long time ago, some guy figured out that if you keep spraying and sanding a guitar, you can make it really shiny. We need to exhume that guy and shoot him!" Can I put a Clear Wood Sealer on my siding to keep it looking natural?

Allen Lumber - FAQ
Clear wood finishes generally have a limited life and they need to be reapplied frequently. Discoloration of the wood will be slowed, but will still take place. Repeated application may produce a waxy film which could repel a pigmented stain later if a color change is desired. Starting with a semi-transparent stain in the same tones as the original wood may be a better way to assure color retension and successful future reapplicaton results. See similar questions...

I like the color of treated wood; can I get a clear sealer?

GreenWay Fine Decks - FAQ's
Yes you can get a clear sealer; unfortunately clear sealers do not have good UV protection qualities built into them. The wood will continue to gray at a slower rate. A better option is to apply a semi-transparent stain which would give you the added UV protection that comes from a tinted sealer. (the darker the tint, the more pigments what in turns gives more protection) See similar questions...
