We recommend Ceramic Tile Adhesive also known as or sometimes referred to as mastic, which is a white acrylic latex adhesive, which will bond ceramic tiles to structurally sound secure dry flat surfaces. It is excellent for setting ceramic tile over drywall and therefore excellent for applying dabs to the rear of our Ceiling Tiles and applying to your ceiling as described. For daily cleaning, a damp cloth (water only) is fine. For a more thorough cleaning diluted vinegar solution or any stainless steel spray cleaner (available from your local department or hardware store) is fine. In most cases hand painted tiles are as durable as factory made tiles and can be cleaned using general kitchen or bathroom cleaning products. Ceiling Tiles are paintable with an emulsion, acrylic or other water based paint. It is recommend that they be painted with an airless paint sprayer. We do not recommend you paint with Spray Cans of Paint due to the propellants that create the spray. Yes, because of their light weight, you don't need to scrape the popcorn. No prior preparation of the ceiling is necessary. The tiles are made to be installed (glued) to the ceiling. With some modification of the slats the tiles can be dropped and will look just fine. All of the tiles are produced in Europe to their standards. That is why they only come in these dimensions. You clean the copper tiles using any standard copper cleaner ? the copper tiles are not coated in any way, so you are dealing with true copper. Experiment with the cleaners readily available from local department or hardware stores - most people prefer the liquid cleaners versus the paste or cream cleaners (due to the mess).
