Use mvpmc with the -s flag to specify the IP address of the MythTV server. If you also use the -r flag to specify the NFS mount point of the MythTV recordings directory, then you will play your MythTV recordings via NFS (If you have multiple backends, use -r with a colon-seperated list for each directory in which to look for recordings). If not, you will play them via the Myth protocol.

Live TV does not currently work with MythTV 0.19. mvpmc is capable of of playing live TV with older versions of MythTV. You can watch live TV either via the filesystem or the myth protocol. If you use the -b option to mvpmc, you can tell mvpmc which directory contains the ringbuffer. If you do not use the -b option, then live tv will be played via the myth protocol. When you select live TV, you will be given a menu containing all of the programs currently being broadcast.

For clients for which you have source code, you can use the rpc_ns_binding_lookup*() routines to search through the binding handles and apply some custom logic to finding a nearby server. For standard DCE services, such as CDS and security queries, you get a random server, which could be anywhere in the cell.

This error is caused by a setting in your FTP client, that limits the amount of time your FTP client will wait for a server to respond. In order to fix this problem, increase the "server timeout" setting; a setting of 180 seconds should be enough time to connect to the archive.org servers. To have other people connect to your server, sign onto your server and type the /INFO command. The last 2 messages of the INFO command output give instructions for connecting to the server. VNC requires TCP/IP network connectivity between the viewer and server computers. A simple test is to use the ping utility. If you can't ping from your viewer to your server, and vice-versa, than VNC will not work!

If you are behind a proxy, please check with your administrator on proxy setups and enter appropriate information under 'settings' from IDrive's login screen. If you are behind proxy, and are unable to get proxy information, we recommend using WebFolders. WebFolders can be setup without proxy information.

I have found that the FTP server connects successfully to the server, but after some time the connection is suddenly broken.

There are several reasons why you cannot connect to the local database. If during connection you get the error "Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061)", then probably MySQL server is installed incorrectly or the service (usually with the name mysql) is not running. To check if the service is launched, open Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services and find service MySQL. If you cannot find this service, you should try to reinstall MySQL.
