Online courses are scheduled to begin on the same date as on-campus courses. Frequently, the online courses themselves will be available anywhere between a week to a month or more before the actual start of courses. However, students should not work in these courses before the actual start of the semester, unless their instructor tells them it is all right. The courses have to be set up in advance to get everything ready for the upcoming semester.

No. Completion of the TIGER Study means being involved in aerobic exercise for 30 weeks. This is why you can only enroll in the study in the Fall semester, and be involved for two consecutive semesters (30 weeks), working out on your own over the Christmas Holidays.

The decision to open the spring semester for admission is made on a year-to-year basis. Generally when the spring semester is open, it is only open to students seeking readmission to SDSU and upper division transfer students from within the SDSU service area.

It truly depends on your individual needs. There are many organizations that offer internship opportunities throughout the year, and others that may only offer summer opportunities. Many students enjoy focusing on their internship during the summer, while others feel it is best for them to pursue the opportunity during the Fall or Spring semesters.

In order to award the prizes before students leave for the summer, the deadline must come before the end of classes. If a graduating senior or non-returning student were to win, it would be very difficult to give him or her the award after s/he has left campus. Please know that we have set the deadline as late as possible so that students wanting to submit spring semester projects can make as much progress as possible.

Most applicants who are accepted for the spring semester have been in the undergraduate program in ORIE and have taken classes that are prerequisites for required spring-term courses.
