WSpell can spell check text strings, standard text boxes (TextBox and CEdit), standard rich-text boxes (RichTextBox and CRichEdit), and TX Text Control. The most common application involves checking the contents of a text box on a form. Usually, your application will set WSpell's TextControlHWnd property with the window-handle property of the text box (usually called the handle or hWnd property), then call WSpell's Start method. WSpell will check the words in the text box.

Yes. However, WSpell was designed for use in desktop applications, where concurrency (multiple applications or threads accessing WSpell at the same time) is low. Wintertree Spelling Server is a much better choice for ASP applications.

WSpell can check text entered in text areas on Web pages viewed with Internet Explorer running on a Windows platform. (Unfortunately, Netscape does not directly support ActiveX controls.) Click on the correct spelling, and notice that the word appears in the change to box in the lower right corner.

Click the "Spell Check" button, located above the "To" box, on the Compose Mail screen. If spell check fails to recognize a word in your email, it will appear in a box along with alternative word suggestions. You can select a suggestion by clicking on the one you'd like to use then the "Change" button. Then click "OK" to save the changes or cancel to.. well, cancel the changes :).

Unfortunately the programming for this message board no longer supports a spellchecker feature. However, if you use Internet Explorer, there is a nice little add-on program that will put a button in your toolbar and allow to you spell check ANY webpage you type into. It's called ieSpell, and you can find it HERE.

The word is a compound of ju meaning soft or yeilding and jutsu meaning practise or art. Remember that Japanese is written with ideograms so there can never be an exact Engligh version. All of the following spellings can be seen in print. This was the way the word was first written in English in th 1890's. So it could be argued that this spelling has been in use the longest. Since -jitsu should only really be used as a suffix, some people see no point in having a compound word.
