Glass is easier to sterilize, re-use, and recycle. Glass doesn't breathe like plastic which can impart off-odors. Glass is also more attractive and lets you visually judge the wine's clarity.

For every 10 members of staff in your office you can expect to use 8 X 19litre bottles of water per month. This figure is based on our extensive experience within the industry and will fluctuate depending on the weather conditions, staff attitudes to health and office air conditioning.

CWB uses high-quality PET (plastic) bottles that are lightweight and clear in colour with a smooth label panel. They do not affect the taste of our pure water. We also have access to the finest glass bottles available in New Zealand and will quote each glass bottle order according to your needs.

Twist off bottles can be used in a pinch, but expect occasional failures to seal, which may ruin a few bottles of beer. This is because the sealing lip on a twist off is very thin, giving the cap less area to seal. In addition, the glass is thinner and weaker, leading to more chips. It is always best to use non-twist off bottles when brewing.

Store extra bottles at room temperature, but avoid direct sun and heat. Even a few hours in direct sun or high heat will ruin the delicate flavor of the seltzer. Heated or frozen bottles can also explode violently. These are returnable bottles. Please care for them and keep the flow going -- quantities are limited. Please do not loosen the tops; the small amount of seltzer in the bottom is not counted in the volume you are charged for -- you are not being shorted.

Wine has been traditionally stored in corked bottles. The necks of these bottles are molded so they can be sealed tightly with corks. In reality you can use just about any bottle to store wine as long as you can seal it tightly. It can be argued that screw cap bottles are better for storing wine because you can get an air-tight seal and there is no chance of picking up off-flavours from the corks. If you do use screw cap bottles make sure you use the proper caps.

The vent is an essential part of the Dr. Brown's system and is required to prevent the vacuum found in other brands of bottles. When liquid gets into the venting system, it can sometimes leak out around the teat collar. This can happen three ways: If you heat your bottle with the teat collar securely in place, the liquid will be forced up into the vent as it expands.

Your beer will be a carbonated beverage which will exert pressure on the bottle you store it in. You will need to make sure that you use bottles that were designed to package carbonated beverages. These include beer bottles, champagne bottles, carbonated soft drink bottles, carbonated juice bottles or any other bottles that were used to store fizzy drinks. It is dangerous to use bottles that were not properly designed for carbonated beverages because of the high risk of explosion.

We use safety caps on all our bottles. The standard flat cap has a single seal around the base of the cap. The sports cap has a safety seal around the base of the cap and a dust cap over the spout.

We use highly filtered water from the acclaimed Hetch-Hetchy system that contains snow melt from the Sierra Nevada mountains. We use a triple filtration system that includes carbon, ultraviolet and barrier filtration down to 0.5 microns in pore size. Those with compromised immune systems can be assured that this filtration eliminates cryptosporidium cysts. Chloramine and its byproducts are also removed.
