Assuming you've gone to a 17" wheel, 275s should fit without any problems. You should even be able to get away with 285s. As for 315s, they will stick out from under the wheel well, but not excessively. If you have a stock panhard rod, it's likely they will rub in inner wheel well under hard and uneven cornering, possibly resulting in loss of control of the vehicle. But a stiffer panhard rod and jounce bumper spacers (available from SLP), you'll be much safer. See similar questions...

Several people have successfully installed 18" wheels on their E46's, however it is unlikely that this improves performance over a 17" wheel. The advantages of a larger wheel are better steering response and aesthetics. The standard tires are BFGoodrich Comp T/A ZR4s in the P255-50ZR17 size. Currently, BFGoodrich is the only company to make a tire in this size. Several tires are available in similar sizes, but the speedometer will then be off. The B body cars have a 5", 5-bolt stud pattern, while ALL Corvettes (and most other sports cars) have a 4 3/4" 5-bolt pattern. These are normally just standard lug nuts and usually they are either from companies such as Racing Hart or Volk Racing. Center caps are normally included unless otherwise noted.
