Q: Where can I obtain soil surveys?
USGS Library: Frequently Asked QuestionsSoil Surveys published by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), formerly the Soil Conservation Service, are available from several sources. The public may view the surveys or borrow them through interlibrary loan from a public or organizational library. The USGS Library in Reston, Virginia has a majority of the soil surveys in our collection, available to the public through interlibrary loan.
Can I include maps or surveys on my web page?

This is because the page size is limited compared to paper-based maps & surveys, and because the resolution (level of detail) on a computer screen is much less than on paper, so small details are not legible. Solid black or dark lines on a sketch will show up, whereas pencil lines will not. (Note, the size of our scanners is 8 1/2" x 14", so we cannot scan items larger than this size.)
