Each member has the ability to rate you (good or bad) depending on how they feel about your participation in the forum. However, each member can change their mind and revoke a bad rating at any time. They can then change their rating to good. So there is always a second chance to redeem yourself. Similarly, a member can also revoke a good rating and change it to a bad rating, so it works both ways.

This does not mean that you agree with what was said; the point brought up may be completely opposite to what you believe, but it may be a good point nonetheless, and worthy of a pat on the back.

Negative reputation should be given if the person is posting something that detracts from the conversation. If the post is rude, inappropriate, breaks forum rules, is not gracious, etc; these are all good reasons to give negative reputation. If you have a personal grudge with someone, their team, etc, is it not appropriate to give them negative reputation for no reason. Giving negative reputation because you don't agree with what was said is not an appropraite use of the reputation system.

The best way to recover data from drives having bad sector, is to clone the drive or to create disk image of the drive and then to process cloned drive or created image, this eventually helps in ignoring the bad sectors and avoids continuous read attempts directly on the disk in real-time situation. The less number of read attempts ensures no further increase in bad sectors and no further loss of data.
