We feel it is necessary to prime Precision Board prior to painting because not all paints adhere to HDU for the long term. Coastal Enterprises makes two types of Primer/Fillers: FSC-88 - a one component solvent based, primer/filler, and FSC-88 WB - a one component waterbased primer/filler. They both are applied directly to Precision Board, dry quickly, sand easily, and accept all types of paints. No, the water itself does not cause painting, it only lets the system see light-colored tools that are touching the painting surface. If the water beads up too much and there are some bright lights nearby, then those beads of water may need to be wiped off to prevent unwanted painting.
