We use two different types of wool sources for various categories of wool carpets. The basic (standard) grade of wool carpets is made of local wool from Kashmir that is used to produce carpets with thick and heavy pile. These carpets usually have bold motifs and are often used in corridors and passageways. The other type of wool that we use for a majority of our carpets comes from New Zealand - Merino sheep wool, often considered to be amongst the finest in the world.

Vanish Upholstery products are not suitable for use on any suite with a pile covering, including velvet, draylon.

Look for 80 to 100 percent wool. I avoid serge as they can be hard to work with. I use them but not frequently. Skirt weight wool does not ravel. I like blankets, and coats as well, though many people prefer lighter weights of wool. The only way you will learn what you really like to work with is by experimenting with a variety of wools.

However, few materials have been studied as extensively as mineral wool. The weight of scientific research confirms that these materials are safe to manufacture, install and use when manufacturers' recommended work practices are followed. Health and safety research on rock and slag wool has been ongoing for nearly 70 years.

The Vanish Oxi Action Pre-Wash spray pack information states that this product is not suitable for use on either of these materials. You could try the Vanish In-Wash stain remover liquid as this is safe for use on wool, silk and colours and is effective at all wash temperatures.
