If the system does not allow to set the monitor to higher resolution or refresh rate, please follow the steps below:

Refresh rates cannot be set from the monitor, they are set through the video card refresh interface. If you have the early version of Win95, please contact your video card vendor for assistance.

more3D supports the highest resolution and refresh rate that your graphics board can handle. You should have at least 128MB of available graphics memory. The common limiting factor is the resolution of the projectors or HMD’s. We have our demo setup running with 1024x768 in 32bit color and 75Hz refresh!

A memory module is made up of electrical cells. The refresh process recharges these cells, which are arranged on the chips in rows. The refresh cycle refers to the number of rows that must be refreshed. The common refresh cycles are 2K, 4K and 8K. Refresh cycle together with refresh period determines how often refresh is needed, which is defined as Refresh Rate. For the same refresh period, 4K refresh parts needs to be refreshed more frequently than 2K parts.

Resolution is the number of pixels on your screen. Pixels are dots of light that make up your computer monitor's picture, similar to how dots of ink make up a printed picture. 640 x 480 resolution means there are 480 rows of pixels on your screen from top to bottom and each row contains 640 pixels, from left to right, for a total of 307,200 pixels (640 x 480). The refresh rate is the rate at which these pixels are drawn onto your computer screen.

We feel that the ideal refresh rate is 75Hz with a screen resolution of 1024 x 768. However, you can set your refresh rate to whatever is comfortable for you. Flickering video and blurred text tend to occur when you have a bad refresh rate. Also, if you suffer from headaches after long periods at your computer, you should check your refresh rate.

For those of you wishing to play the cooperative multiplayer mode, here are a few guide lines should you get stuck. First of all one person needs to act as the server. That person needs to start their internet connection and then run the multiplayer server client packaged with the game. There is a link to it in the start menu where the game is also. A DOS type window will appear and display your IP address in the following format xxx.xxx.xxx.

The BOE's electronic services have been built to handle 800x600. If you are running Windows, you can change your resolution. Click on "Start." Click on "Settings." Click on "Control Panel." Click on "Display." Click on the "Settings" tab and adjust your screen area.

Keep in mind that as resolution is increased, everything is made proportionately smaller so you can see more of your work on the screen at one time without scrolling. This gives the effect of higher resolution because the individual pixels that make up the images are smaller to the eye.

Select menu extras | options | view and colors | screen refresh rate. Tick automatic refresh and set a time interval to suit your requirements.

ms vs hz Milliseconds and Hertz are inversely proportional. 1 second = 1000 ms, and 1 hz = 1/s. So to convert 15ms into hz it would be 1 / (15 ms * 1 s / 1000 ms) = ~67hz Here is a small chart detailing some of the more common LCD ms ratings and their relationship to Hz. Notice the non-liinear relationship between milliseconds and hz. As milliseconds get smaller, the corresponding hz gets larger a lot faster.

All the images in the Photojournal are released with the maximum (or fullest) resolution available which is largely determined by the maximum resolution captured by the camera aboard any given spacecraft. The TIFF images are the highest resolution images made available to the Photojournal. All images are downloadable, with the TIFF file providing the fullest resolution. We cannot provide you with a higher resolution image than that which appears in the Photojournal.

DSL's monitor refresh rate is fixed at 60Hz, which is very low compared to that used on most modern PCs. One solution is to use an LCD monitor. Other solutions are more involved: the simple VESA 2.0 standard used by DSL does not support increased refresh rates in a way that works on all video cards. There are solutions that involve booting into MS-DOS first, and a variety of other hacks. There is no easy or supported answer as of this writing. For the full discussion, visit the forums.

Client: The refresh rate is the frequency of the client accessing the calendar server for new entries. Your agenda is refreshed every 10 minutes unless you specify a different amount of time. You may choose View | Refresh All to manually refresh your agenda. Web: The agenda is not refreshed automatically on your screen.
