I have had a few mails on this lately. It is possible for a TRV to stick in the closed position, and most of them have a removable thermostatic head, to reveal the valve plunger beneath it. This should be free to move up and down, but the plunger pin does not move very much, usually not more that about 5 or 6mm. About 2 pounds pressure with a flat object should move the pin down, and it should be free to move up to its highest position by itself with the thermostatic head off.

There may be one (or more) radiators in your home, usually the bathroom, which does not have a TRV. This does not mean that one is missing. There sometimes needs to be one radiator always open to allow water to flow into it if all the others are turned off, to avoid damage to the pump or boiler. The TRV controls the radiators temperature by sensing the room air temperature and automatically opening and closing the flow to the radiator to maintain a preset temperature. A manual valve controls the temperature of the radiator regardless of how warm the room already is. On large radiators (above 1800 watts, or where the radiator is oversized for the room) we recommend TRV because they save you having to get up to turn the radiator up and down, but they are not essential. New houses may have this, because of new housing regulations. However, existing older systems will not usually have an AUTOMATIC BYPASS (PRESSURE BALANCING) VALVE, or ABV fitted to the system.These are required to cater for the possibility that the majority of radiators are closed off due to low TRV settings, but high room thermostat settings keeping the boiler cycling. This usually means you have a sludge build up in the bottom of the radiator. This can be resolved by power flushing the system. We understand how frustrating it is when your patch does not stick. Lack of adhesion may be attributed to hot weather, patient skin type or activity. Please be sure you have applied the patch properly: Choose a non-hairy, clean, dry area of skin. Press the patch firmly on your skin with the heel of your hand for at least 10 seconds. A.: The smoother the sheet, the more prone it is to stick to your blanket. Some offset printing blankets we used years back were very problematic in this regard. Today we have some high tech printing blankets that give phenomenal release while rendering extremely sharp and clean images. If the sheet is pulling out of the grippers near the lead edge of the sheet, I would check that the cylinder grippers are holding the sheet tightly enough to pull it off the blanket. I have recently bought a F650GS from a friend and a couple weeks after I bought it the engine would cease running when I left off the throttle even at 70mph on the freeway. A cold is a runny or stuffy nose caused by a virus. Average healthy children average 6 colds per year though it is not unusual to for them to get 2 colds per month during the "sick" months of winter. In principle it can snow at any temperature below freezing. It snows at the South Pole even though the temperature is rarely above -40 C (-40 F). In more hospitable climates, however, it doesn't snow so much when the temperature is below around -20 C (-4 F). When a parcel of moist air cools, it starts producing snow before it gets that cold. Ordinarily the radiant tubing must run at a lower temperature than the baseboard. This means that a mixing valve is used to provide a lower temperature for the radiant heating tube. It might be possible to avoid the expense of the mixing valve if the baseboard can be run at a lower temperature and if you select a radiant tubing with a high temperature rating, but the situation will not be ideal. Back in the 50s, MCI installed radiators in the back of the cabin structure above the floor. This idea was to prevent an ongoing problem of leaves, dirt, and debris being sucked in the low slung radiator. Over the years, all manufacturers install their radiators next to the engine on the left side.
