Acceptance into a graduate program cannot be deferred. Acceptance is valid only for the academic session. An applicant who does not register in this session must reapply for admission. However, the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research will hold application materials for a period of one year. Any student may take up to one year's course leave at any time, including at the start of the program, with approval of the School. During this time, any outstanding requirements may be met, eg by undertaking a program at other institutions (subject to approval by the school).
