To use Fluxbox in Debian Live, just add a new lists file with the fluxbox packages that you want. Then create a .dmrc file in /home/$USERNAME/ (should default to "user") during the initramfs process. This file must contain a 'Session=fluxbox' line. Make sure the file is owned by user:user. And that's it! It will auto login to fluxbox when you boot. Yes. The tarballs for both packages should be 100% interchangeable. This should also stay true for the Waimea and Openbox projects, although I can't guarantee it.
