Well, since the directory needs to be writable, the best place to put it would be below the document root. So if your document root is /home/something/public_html/, then you could put the cache directory at /home/something/page_cache/. It will work fine above the document root as well. Just make sure this directory is writable, or file based caching will not work. Well, when the pages are cached, the component needs to know how often to reprocess the page.

As with domain controllers, Windows 2000 tracks each domain in the metadata and if you remove all the domain controller's for a domain and never select "This is the last domain controller in the domain" when running DCPROMO to demote to a normal server its information will not be cleaned up and its domain information will remain.

You can fake it by always using the -Pd options to checkout and update, perhaps in your ~/.cvsrc. This will cause empty directories not to be checked out and, thus, appear to have been removed once all of the files in them have been checked out. Deleting an existing cache directory is not too difficult. Unfortunately, you can't simply change squid.conf and then reconfigure. You can't stop using a cache_dir while Squid is running. Also note that Squid requires at least one cache_dir to run. Edit your squid.conf file and comment out, or delete the cache_dir line for the cache directory that you want to remove. If you don't have any cache_dir lines in your squid.conf, then Squid was using the default.

Try using "HttpContext.Current.Cache" instead of just "Cache" in your code. The compiler probably wasn't able to resolve the Cache type.

If a site has been added and it is computing-related and does not contain any offensive content you cannot remove a site.

If your operating system supports these services, they are likely to be provided in C via functions named mkdir and rmdir. Removing a directory's contents as well will require listing them (see question 19.20) and calling remove (see also question 19.16). The only people who can modify the membership of a group are the owners of the group; the ability to remove oneself from a group would require administrative priveledges for that group. Archaeologists are apt to use odd terms for common objects. One such is the term cache pit. This is nothing more than the French term for a storage pit. Similar terms include atlatl (spearthrower), mano and metate (handstone and milling stone), and provenience (a bad rendition of provenance, or location).

This should in principle work with NFSv3 except if your NFS implementation is buggy (but see below about Linux). If you run the proxy (polipo) and the expiry process (polipo -x) on different hosts, you might (if your LAN is very noisy, your NFS implementation very primitive, and you're very unlucky) get I/O errors and broken connections, but no government corruption should happen.

Sometimes if you use Internet Explorer it will leave its cache files in "your profile"\Temporary Internet Files". Empty this by running IE and choosing "Internet Options" from the "Tools" menu. On the window that pops up click on the "Delete Files" button in the "Temporary Internet files" section.
