There is no application required for a TA or RA position. All applicants are considered for a TA or RA position. Additional funding questions may be answered at the financial support page.

Answer: Faculty members often employ doctoral students as RA’s on their research projects, and students are strongly encouraged to apply for these positions as they provide excellent experience. These positions vary from year to year, depending on the grant money awarded to faculty members. Teaching assistants (TA’s) help professors by assisting with marking assignments and delivery of some course information. SLAIS does not have such positions at this time

No - all applicants are considered for these positions. Typically half of the incoming class (i.e. around 12 students) are offered TA positions each year. Of these, a few are multi-year TA offers.

To be hired as a TA or GSR, students must provide proof of eligibility for employment on campus. An international student must have taken and passed the TSE with a score of at least 50 in order to qualify for TA appointment. Conditions of your financial support award are included in the formal letter you received from the Department. Employment as a TA or GSR is not generally required when the student's financial support package includes a monthly stipend.

The ECE department offers two forms of student financial assistance: The research assistant (RA) and the teaching assistant (TA). The RA positions are under control of each individual faculty member. The ECE office does not keep any records on availability. You will need to query each individual faculty member to check on their availability of RA funding.

Teaching assistants assist a professor by teaching an undergraduate class or checking exam papers. They are paid for this job, which covers most of their expenses while at the university..

Please check our undergraduate course descriptions. You are likely to teach a course with a course number beginning 10, 11, or 12. You may need to master specific programming languages such as C++ and Scheme to be able to perform your teaching duties.

Instructors cannot add users to a course. To request that a user be added as a TA, please send email to blackboard@uno.edu.

All hiring of teaching assistants at UofT is done internally by individual departments. Most graduate departments at the University of Toronto offer new students a teaching assistantship when they are accepted into the department. This is not always the case, however, and no department is required to offer TAships to its students.

Teaching Assistant assignments will be made in late August. You will work with a faculty member and your main duty will be to grade assignment papers. Graduate students do not usually teach classes. You will have office hours for undergraduate students to meet with you. A few hours each week will be spent maintaining web pages for faculty.

Some services are restricted to students in the College of Education, but all students are welcome to visit the office to use the reference materials and attend the career fairs. Many graduate students serve in one of these two positions for all or most of their graduate student career. These positions offer professional development, research opportunities and significant financial rewards. In addition to a monthly salary, these positions provide a full or partial fee waiver. the current time, we are able to offer most qualified graduate students a TA position during the first year of study.

To be considered for a position in the other library units, applications are made available in the Libraries Human Resources Office, RM 6115 McKeldin Library. They can be turned into the Libraries Human Resources Office or any library service desk advertising a vacant position.

Of course, it varies from school to school, but you may be expected to teach a variety of courses, ranging from children to business professionals at all levels, in groups or in private sessions. Some courses are taught on-site, so you may be asked to travel to area businesses.

Like the other disciplines in engineering, our graduate can join the teaching profession in junior colleges after they go through the NIE courses.

No, SMAR2T will not place you in a teaching position. It is your responsibility to seek employment. For more information on available teaching positions, contact the Career and Program Support office or the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

If you have not had the opportunity to teach during the period of your provisional registration, you will need to make a new application to be put back on the Teachers' Register. There is no limit to the number of times you may reapply for registration. There is no requirement to undertake a further training course.
