DSL is one type of broadband internet access. Other types include cable and unwired technologies like wireless ethernet and WI-FI. Broadband is the termed used to describe high speed access because these technolgies use higher frequencies than those used for standard phone service or "narrowband". However, DSL is probably the easiest to setup and least intrusive of these technologies because we are using your phone service to deliver access. All that you require is a high speed modem.
