You must maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.50 in all majors in the Greenspun College of Urban Afffairs. A 3.0 GPA is necessary for JMS students under 2006-2008 catalog. Each student enters UNLV with an admissions GPA. Your admissions GPA is determined either by your cumulative high school grades or by your cumulative GPA of all non-UNLV or UNLV special student college/university courses taken prior to your formal entrance into UNLV.

The institutional GPA must remain at a 2.0 or higher for you to be considered in good academic standing.

A student with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher is considered to be in good standing. A student will be placed on academic probation whenever his or her cumulative GPA falls below 2.0. The student will remain on academic probation until a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher is achieved. If your GPA is 2.75 or higher, you are eligible to be admitted as a regular student. If your GPA is a 2.0 through 2.74, then you may be admitted as a student on probation status. Consultation with your program coordinator and the approval of the graduate dean is required. Removal of the probationary status requires that you receive at least a B in your first two 3-hour classes. Generally, books cost $75-$100/term.

The CALS Registrar’s Office can provide this information for CALS students. Students should come to 140 Roberts Hall to complete a “Request Form.”

To maintain financial aid eligibility, you are required to complete at least 75% of all credits attempted. For example, a student registers for 18 credits during the fall semester and 9 credits during the spring semester for a total of 27 credits attempted. If you complete 21 of the 27 credits, then 75% of the total credits attempted have been completed and the criteria for Satisfactory Academic Progress has been met. Your GPA also impacts Satisfactory Academic Progress.

The lead, applicant agency must be in good standing; there are no regulations or requirements for sub-grantees.

There are two types of academic standing: academic and learning support. Academic is based on your GPA, and learning support is based on the number of attempts you have at a Learning Support area.

All grades earned in the 15-unit comprehensive A-G pattern of college preparatory courses taken in 10th-12th grades are used to calculate your grade point average. Honors points for grades of "A," "B" and "C" will be awarded for a maximum of eight semester courses taken in 11th and 12th grades, including up to two IB or AP courses, or honors courses with 11th or 12th grade content taken in 10th grade. Patients that require laboratory work regularly may be provided with a standing order from their physician. A standing order is a convenient way for patients, physicians and Centrex to monitor certain test levels. Protime and CBC tests are the most common standing order tests. Standing orders are permitted for a period of six months. Only a physician office can set up this type of service.

You need to be aware of a sobering reality: admission to a health professions school is a highly competitive process. This means, of course, that these schools will draw candidates from the high end of the GPA range. Consider these statistics. The most common GPA for applicants admitted to medical schools nationwide, for example, is 3.75. At Upstate Medical University, the median overall GPA for accepted applicants is around 3.65 (3.57 for the science GPA).

Pick up your folder from your current college. Bring the folder to 266 Spidle Hall and make an appointment to transfer in.

College notes" is the little yellow box of stats and comments that appears when you pass your cursor over a saved college name. "PEA GPA" is the mean PEA GPA for Class of 2006 who were accepted to that college.

The receiving university will evaluate all transferable coursework attempted at the community college for admissions. Community college grades are also important in eligibility for awards, scholarships, and admissions to impacted majors with limited admissions.
