A large variety of wave files comes with Windows and other applications, and there are several WAV fles and AVI files available on the MailAlert web site and other Internet locations. You can have more than one icon on the taskbar by adding icons on the Properties -- Mailboxes screen. MetaSynth currently looks at the file 'type' rather than the file extension. AIFF files that originate on the Mac usually have the file type set correctly but files created on PCs usually don't. If you have a file type utility (such as File Typer or File Buddy), check to make sure that the file type is AIFF. If there is enough interest expressed to us, we will create a 'droplet' application that will set the type correctly.

There are two ways to record video into avi files. The first way is using the legacy VFW based AVI functions, you can snap an image, and write to avi file frame by frame. The second and better way to record video into avi file is using the media file functions, it'll record continuously, you can record audio along with video too. Before CDex 1.10 you can only encode WAV files, but not the other way around. There are several tools available which can do this job. Take a look at www.mp3.com and look for utilities like WinAmp or MaPlay.

When I try to play a video the sound is absolutely fine, but the screen just shows green/black fuzziness

Answer: This is a limitation of the chip unable to handle recorded video files large than 1GB, hence a new video file is automatically generated every hour, i.e. your recorded video will span several files if you are recording over 1hr. You can use software to merge them together after recording though, if you don't like them being broken into several files.

There are many conversion programs out there that will take all your .wav files and convert them to mp3 quickly and easily. Our favorite program is Smart Wave Converter Or the free Mp3 recorder you receive with your membership can convert them for you.

A : Playing back sound files cannot always be done in realtime, especially on slow PCs or when using high overlaps / small FFT sizes. This would lead to terrible chopped sounds and therefor we disabled sound for playback.

If the file is AVI file, you need to install a codec. To download and install the codec, goto the http://www.divxmovies.com or http://www divx.com.

Videos belonging to games from Blizzard contain DivX video, but with a different FourCC, namely "BLZ0". To play such videos you need to use ffdshow for decoding DivX video. The regular DivX decoder won't work (unless you manually change the FourCC). If that doesn't solve the problem, then you should use Media Player Classic or VideoLAN to play the file.

Filters could be applied to the whole clip only. To apply filter to a clip part, split clip first using Clip/Split command.

Once that happens, each of the loops will only play once — this is why they seemed to drop out one-by-one.

What does the "compression" value under the time lapse mean. There is another compression option under the "Options" icon where I can select my compression codec and select a level of compression but this doesn't change the compression value in the time-lapse section. The compression option under the 'Options' icon works with streaming avis. The 'compression' value under time lapse works with time-lapse ones.
