Should I use "Oil Restrictors" in my engine?

CraneCams
No, Crane Cams does not recommend the use of oil restrictors. The oil is the life blood of the engine, not only lubricating but cooling the engine components as well. For example, a valve spring builds in temperature as it compresses and relaxes. This increase of temperature affects the characteristics of the spring material, and if excessive, will shorten the life of the spring. Oil is the only means the spring has for cooling. FAQ and not-so-FAQ about engine oils
Not very important at all. Unfortunately, due to ?a**e covering? reasons we cannot print this advice on the can! Although officially all manufacturers advise against mixing different makes and grades, in fact there is very little chance of any harm being done, even if one is a mineral 20W/50 and the other is a 5W/30 synthetic. Obviously, avoid this if you can, but do not panic if there?s no other alternative. See similar questions...

which type/brand of oil and filter should i use for the mkiv tt engine?

turbocharged car owners generally favor pure synthetic or synthetic blend oils over dino oils. synthetics' shear and anticoking properties at high temperatures are ideal for protecting turbocharged engines. any synthetic of the proper weight will do. don't get hung up on brand names. if your tt has a new engine or fresh short block, allow 5,000 miles for break-in with dinosaur (mineral) oil before changing over to synthetic oil. the "dino oil" helps seat rings, seals, etc. See similar questions...

How much oil should my engine use?

The Peugeot 206 GTI Page
All engines do burn oil, which is emitted again through the exhaust. The cylinders are oil-wet, fuel is burned, and so it burns the oil on the cylinder walls too. It's a simple as that. When it burns 1 litre every 1500 km you can start to worry, and when it burns one litre every 1000 km, the oil seal piston and/or cylinder is worn (one or all four). It goes the other way around too. The fuel/air/oil mix leaks a bit (due to the compression pressure) down into the engine/sump via the piston rings. See similar questions...
