It is normal for the smoke alarms to sound briefly (up to 5 - 10 seconds) when they are powered up. If the alarm continues to sound and no smoke is present , the cause may be: Very low batteries or insufficient electrical power (brown out) may cause a continuous weak sounding alarm. For DC models, change the battery (DC). For AC or AC/DC models, temporarily disconnect power at the service panel until the brown out is over.

A likely reason for this is internal damage due to use of an AC adapter with a incorrect polarity plug. MARK-10 gauges require a plug with the center contact positive (+). Some adapters (e.g. Mitutoyo) use plugs with the center contact negative. The use of such a device even momentarily will damage the circuitry inside the gauge.

The power cords are plugged into a variety of outlets and power bars. Check that the appropriate cords are plugged in. The robot's home position may have changed. Try homing the robot again. If this doesn't fix the problem, reset the system by turning the controller power off, exit the program and then re-start ( you could try re-booting the computer as well). If this does not work, then there may be a hardware problem.
