Chapter 61 retirees who are also eligible for longevity retirement (20 years or more for retirement purposes) will be eligible for CRDP and CRSC. However, their entitlement will be calculated as if they had received a non-disability retirement. They will not be reimbursed to the level of their service-awarded disability retirement. Chapter 61 retirees with fewer than 20 years of service are not eligible for either program at this time.

Yes. If you are approved for a Service Connected Disability retirement, ACERA will provide the same monthly medical allowance as is paid for a retiree with twenty (20) years of service. The medical plans available to you are administered by ACERA. If you receive a Non-Service Connected Disability retirement and have at least ten (10) years of retirement credit, a portion of your medical insurance costs will be paid based on the current monthly medical allowance amount.
