Frequently Asked Questions

How large of an enclosure do I need for my boa?

Boa Constrictor Store - Frequently Asked Questions
The baby boas we feature would be comfortable in a 10 gallon aquarium for up to one year. By the time your boa becomes an adult you would want a cage large enough so that your snake can stretch out if it prefers. An example would be a 75 to 100 gallon aquarium or a custom cage. The cages we use at The Boa Store are walk-in cages that are 5 feet wide by six feet long.

How large will my boa get?

Boa Constrictor Store - Frequently Asked Questions
Most boas will grow to between 6 and 8 feet with the males usually being the smaller of the two sexes. Snakes grow rapidly for the first 3 to 4 years of their life. After that, their growth rate drops dramatically--gaining only about 1 inch or less per year.

Do I need a separate enclosure for my RTU and radio?

SEECO Faq's
No. SEECO's standard motor operator enclosure (with flush mount door) can accommodate many major brands of RTU, radio, cellular modem or other communication device. These devices are typically door mounted, which provides ample space and access to motor operator interior components and systems when the door is open. Smaller, more compact devices may be located elsewhere within the interior of the enclosure as space and function requires.

DO I REALLY NEED AN ENCLOSURE FOR MY COMPUTER?

CNT Motion Systems - A Division of CNT Fixture Company, Inc.
CNT Motion strongly recommends that you use an enclosure to protect your computer controller from the airborne particles typically found in a workshop environment. A pressurized computer controller cabinet comes standard with each of our machines to protect your computer. It also houses all of the electronics for your CNC router.

Q2: How do I feed my rosy boa?

FAQ
Feeding Rosy Boas can present problems for those less experienced with the species. The reason is that their digestive system is a bit more delicate than other snakes and their jaw anatomy does not allow them to swallow large prey. Therefore, it is important to feed these snakes smaller rodents than for other species. A rule of thumb is to feed the snake meals that will not leave a large bulge in their stomach area.

Q4: My rosy boa is regurgitating. What do I do?

FAQ
A common problem with Rosy Boas is regurgitation even if the boa is otherwise healthy. Common causes are overheating, underheating, improper temperature gradients, high relative humidity, water intake prior to or just after feeding, stress related to handling after feeding, and housing too many boas in one cage. These boas also regurgitate as a symptom of illness including infection by bacteria, viruses, and parasites or metabolic disturbances, tumors, and neurological disorders.

Q5: Can I house more than one boa in the same cage?

FAQ
The answer here is a cautious "yes." We have successfully housed more than one boa together and have even had productive breeding occur. Rosy Boas are not cannibalistic by nature. They are thought to be "loners" in nature for the most part, although some think they may congregate in small numbers to brumate. We have found on occasion that a boa becomes stressed when too crowded, begins to feed poorly or regurgitate, then does much better when housed alone.

Is it true that a pet herp will only grow as large as the enclosure in which it's kept?

Welcome to McMartinVille
Unscrupulous pet store owners will tell you this to make a sale. A Burmese python (adult size: 20 feet plus) will NOT remain "stunted" if you keep it in a 10-gallon aquarium. It WILL outgrow it! The same goes for iguanas, boas, and all other herps, as well as fish. DO NOT acquire a pet herp if you cannot maintain it once it reaches its adult size.

Do my subwoofers need separate chambers within their enclosure?

Fhrx Studios - Audio / Visual Specialists
When running more than one subwoofer in an enclosure, you'll need to decide between using a common chamber (where all subwoofers run in the same airspace) or a separate chamber enclosure (where each subwoofer has its own airspace). Common chamber enclosures have no dividers between the subwoofers and the airspace inside the box is the internal volume for one subwoofer multiplied by the number of subwoofers in the enclosure.

Education
So that we can have enough maps and volunteers to support you. It's very upsetting when we run out of maps :-)

I want to get into contracting for large fires. What do I need to do?

FAQ Page
NIFC is messing around with a national "call-when-needed" engine contract based on geographical locations and "best value" pricing to the government. This means, basically, they take into account experience of crew, equipment and engine age and capabilities and throw them all into a blender and come up with what they call "best value." I know NIFC is trying to get it out this year, but it is behind schedule as it is being churned in the political grinder.

How large of a downpayment do I need?

McCue Mortgage -- Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
There are mortgage options that we offer that only require a downpayment of 5% or less of the purchase price. But the larger the downpayment, the less you have to borrow and the more equity you'll have. Mortgages with less than a 20% downpayment generally require mortgage insurance to minimize the risk to the lender. When deciding the size of your downpayment, consider that you'll also need money for closing costs, moving expenses and possibly, repairs and decorating for your new home.

Q3: My rosy boa won't eat. What do I do?

FAQ
Boas can go "off feed" for several reasons. The first issue to consider is a health problem. Record keeping (a significant change from prior feeding patterns) and taking note of the appearance of the snake and the fecal material can help you decide if this is the case.

How warm should I keep my boa?

Boa Constrictor Store - Frequently Asked Questions
Normal room temperature (68 -70 degrees Fahrenheit) IS NOT warm enough for boas. Ideally, their environment should be between 78 and 85 degrees. Less than 78 degrees and the snake is likely to get sluggish, become uninterested in eating, and will be more susceptible to infection or illness. Anything over 90 degrees, on the other hand, should be avoided as high temperatures, especially near 100 degrees, is fatal.

What are the benefits of BOA?

F.A.Q's

Do I need a large, fenced yard?

Personalized Greyhounds, Inc.
While encouraged, it is not mandatory. A few minutes a day of playing, running, or even a long walk will be sufficient to keep your Greyhound happy; but your dog must always be on a leash when not in an enclosed area.

Can I scan my documents into one large file or do I need to scan them individually?

Frequently Asked Questions
You can scan them together and upload them as "other" or you can scan them individually and upload them to the appropriate categories. Do whatever is more convenient for you but it's important that all the scanned pages are legible. Some claimants find it easier to scan like documents together so that the scanner settings will be optimized for each type. Orders, GBLs, estimates, for example are typically easy to read text.

I have large "varicose veins." Don't I need surgery for that?

VeinCare of NC
No. We have achieved long-term results (i.e., permanent closure) of bad large veins in approximately 98% of patients treated with our Ultrasound Guided Injection Protocol. We begin with an Ultrasound Mapping of your large vein system, identifying all of the roots of the bad veins. Then, we do a series of injection treatments designed to gradually get your veins under control. We call this series stage I, which usually takes 2-3 visits over a month.
