You can receive digital signals by attaching a set-top digital tuner box to your regular television. The box, available wherever TVs are sold, attaches to your TV set like a DVD player. Regular (analog) televisions will not pick up digital signals without a set-top digital tuner box. A few digital television sets come with the digital tuner box already installed.

If you are running Windows XP, you can view this information by examining the properties of the file in question - although this will not display all of the information stored in the EXIF header. Codecs allow Windows and many applications to view your RAW files. They are provided and maintained by the camera manufacturers. You can find codecs for the files in your Gallery by going to the 'File' menu in the Photo Gallery, and pressing the 'Check for updates' button in the 'Options Dialog'. If there are codecs available for files that you have in your Gallery, a web page will open with a link to download the codec.

Most DVD-Video discs contain Dolby Digital soundtracks. However, it's not required. Some discs, especially those containing only audio, have PCM tracks. It's also possible for a 625/50 (PAL) disc to contain only MPEG audio, but so far MPEG audio is not widely used. Don't assume that the "Dolby Digital" label is a guarantee of 5.1 channels. The Dolby Digital option is used if you are connecting your Digital Terminal to your Home Theatre receiver. If you connect a digital coax cable from the SPDIF output to a home theatre system in the future, go back to this setting and change it to ON.

Because today's systems are a combination of digital and analog circuits, to debug them you need to be able to view and trigger on the digital signals while also seeing the synchronized analog waveforms of other parts of the circuit. The combination of both digital and analog inputs on one instrument makes this much easier to accomplish than it would be with separate scope and logic analyzers.
