Our boats are equipped with generators so you can bring a TV/VCR. Don’t bring a TV alone as you won’t pick up any channels out on the lake. Our Lady of the Lake Series boat comes with a TV/VCR so don’t forget to bring some tapes along if you wish. Many people enjoy not having a TV.

Yes. Each bedroom has a TV aerial point. Computer ports in bedrooms are available at a small extra cost. You must bring earphones with your stereo.

Computers and printers require special care. Wires and cables need to be disconnected and a blank floppy disk may need to be inserted in your PC to protect the disk drive. Monitors and hardware should be wrapped similar to other home electronics. We recommend that you backup your system on to floppy disks and take them with you during the move. Flat Screen Televisions and monitors need special care. Please contact your manufacturer for proper moving instructions.

Each hall has a television in the lobby for your use, but you may bring your own TV or stereo. You may want to coordinate with your roommate(s) so that you can utilize your room space well. Consider bringing headphones if you play your TV or stereo loudly - that way you won't bother other students who may be trying to sleep or study.

Yes, but the TV will only work with the VCR. Italian PAL B/G system is a different flavour from UK PAL I system, so you can get Italian TV broadcast pictures but no sound. See FAQ soc.culture.italian Part 7 for detailed comparisons of Italian and Californian appliances. Some of this is in italian though. The electrical supply is much more badly regulated than in the UK - the lights flicker and dim in a Residenza apartment every 20-30 minutes every evening (but computers and stereos cope).

Long answer: The minimum requirement for reproducing audio and video on DVD is an MPEG video stream and a PCM audio track. (Other streams such as Dolby Digital audio, MPEG audio, and subpicture are not necessary for the simplest case.) Basic DVD control codes are also needed. At the moment it's difficult in real time to encode the video and audio, combine them with DVD-V info, and write the whole thing to DVD. Even if you could do all this in a home recorder, it would be extremely expensive.

Everyone wants these to be TV's, but in most instances they are actually more closely related to the VCR. In a lot of models the only remote control that will satisfactorily work combo sets is the manufacturers original. In many cases even manufacturers that build their own TV's, have some other manufacturer build their TV/VCR combo's.

It is not necessary for you to bring items such as a phone, radio, hair dryer, electric shaver, VCR, or microwave since these are available to you. Space is also limited in your room, so it is best to leave these articles at home. It's generally not a good idea to route the video from your DVD player through your VCR. Most movies use Macrovision protection, which will cause problems such as a repeated darkening and lightening of the picture. See 1.11 and the Video RF section of 3.2 and for more info.

Simply connect your coaxial cable into the HUSKYvision faceplate (the faceplate with only one coax connection) and the input jack on your cable-ready TV or VCR. Coaxial cables are available at the UConn Coop. If you have a VCR, connect your coaxial cable from the cable INPUT to the HUSKYvision faceplate. Then connect the OUTPUT jack from your VCR to the INPUT jack on your TV.

We provide all equipment for all outdoor lessons, trips, and skill clinics. The only exception is our Level 2 Package.

Sauder furniture is designed to hold most popular audio, video and computer equipment. However, there's simply no way to design furniture that will hold all makes and models. To be sure you're getting the space you need, measure your equipment, then check the furniture dimensions listed in our brochures or on the furniture cartons.
