Meat is flesh or muscle meat whilst the term animal derivatives refers simply to the ingredients that are not muscle meat. This includes the liver, kidneys and tripe (stomach), parts of the animal which would be consumed naturally if the dog or cat was living in the wild. Every ingredient is carefully chosen for its nutrient value. We only use ingredients from animals passed fit for human consumption and farmed in accordance with international welfare laws.

In January 2008, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration published a final risk assessment on meat and milk products from animal clones and their offspring which concluded that these products are as safe as conventionally produced food products.
