The Window Glazing Chisel is designed to be held perpendicular to the glass at a roughly 45 ° angle from vertical, to remove the glazing that holds the glass in the frame.

Tinting the glazing is something quite popular in England because a clear coat is frequently used. To tint the glazing you can simply add a small amount of the Allback linseed oil paint into the glazing. You can also use a commercially available pigment designed for oil paint from your artist paint store.

Traditional putty knives are NOT recommended. A high quality pull scraper which is pulled toward you instead of pushed away from you is essential with the Speedheater Infrared (IR) Paint Remover. Heating the paint will soften the paint. It is then up to the quality scraper tool to get the paint off. Most paint on the surface will require a little elbow grease when scraping. Inexpensive scrapers found in many paint stores do not work very well.

You can use any scraper that you like, but some scrapers are more efficient, and will make your project a lot easier. Speedheater scrapers are designed to be pulled toward you with both hands, which requires much less energy than using a putty knife. A putty knife is designed to be pushed away from you at a shallow angle, which causes strain on your hand and wrist.

Glazing putty is thinner and creamier. It often comes in a can and uses a hardener to set up just like regular body filler. It's designed for filling smaller dings, crevices and sandscratches. It is very resistant to pinholing. It's often used as a second or third coat over bodyfiller to fill pinholes or sand scratches or other imperfections in the regular body filler. It can be sanded with finer paper and leaves behind a nice smooth surface after sanding.

They both work well for filling scratches but two-component glazing putty (uses a hardener to setup) doesn't shrink and has many of the same properties as regular plastic filler. The traditional glazing putty that comes in a tube, like a giant tube of toothpaste is usually a laquer-based product that has several downfalls. Because it hardens by evaporation it is prone to shrinkage. It must be applied in only thin coats and must fully dry before final sanding or coating with primer.

A tongue scraper has two rows of plastic serrated scrapers on one side and two rows of bristles on the other. The scrapers gently clean the tongue, while the bristles reach into the tiny grooves on the surface to dislodge bacteria and debris.

This is a function of roller run-out which can be from .002" to .003" (note that ball bearings supporting the rollers have a run-out of up to .002" as well). Set the scraper clearance a minimum of .002" more than the observed run-out.

Typically cold or stiff doughs require a greater clearance to avoid damage from a double. In addition, stiff doughs can slow down while sheeting and form a mass that pushes against the scraper plates causing deflection. As such, we recommend clearances up to .012". In extremely stiff douhgs, removal for the front scrapers may be required.

Rollers are another very popular type of paint applicator. Paint can be applied much faster with a roller than a brush, especially over large surfaces. Paint rollers are also more user-friendly than brushes for less experienced painters - with a roller, it's easier to apply paint more evenly, without leaving brush marks. They release paint efficiently to the surface, in a smooth, even coat - not thick in one spot or thin in another.

The function of a scraper ring is to prevent dirt particles from entering the components in a hydraulic or pneumatic circuit; cylinders or valves. This helps prevent contamination of the media which will damage the seal, the surface of the housing and the guide bush. Bellows provide a complete protection for reciprocating shafts, but they are complicated to produce and can be easily damaged so their use is restricted to special applications.

There are several reasons for the chisel grind. For any of you who have ever used a correctly sharpened wood chisel for woodworking, you know what a chisel can do. Although a knife is not a chisel, those properties, when applied to a knife grind have almost magical effect. A chisel ground knife, being beveled, (ground) on one side only, possesses greater strength, (due to increased cross sectional mass) and they cut with an ease not found on any other type of blade.

Usually not. We find that, with the hourly cost of our studio's overhead and payroll, it is not cost effective for the studio or client. Our facility is geared toward efficient and effective production of larger scale projects.

Use a quality cover for an easier, more uniform application. Lambswool is recommended for some oils and epoxies, otherwise use a quality synthetic fiber roller cover. A 3/8" to 1/2" nap roller cover is recommended for wall paint being applied to smooth drywall or plaster. Rough plaster and stucco walls may require a 3/4" to 1" nap cover.

Yes you can, however, you do need to be careful to keep your synthetic winchline away from the steel roller housing, if your vehicle is at extreme up or down angles while side winching it is possible to cut the winchline on the sharp steel housing. Wether you use a roller fairlead or a hawse fairlead you always need to careful that your line does not come in contact with sharp edges on your bumper.
