You may drop credit courses without restrictions during the first two weeks of the quarter. (See Important Dates.) These dropped courses will not be recorded on your transcript. A $20 change fee will be charged during the second week of the quarter for each course dropped. You may drop only one course each academic year (defined as September through August) during the period from the beginning of the third week through the end of the seventh week of the quarter. No notation will be made on your transcript if you drop courses or withdraw from Summer Sessions prior to the last day of the session. But be sure to verify your Summer Sessions enrollment status. If a student notifies the College of his/her withdrawal of registration, in writing, by the day prior to the official refund deadline date a 100 percent refund will be made. The "W" stands for "Writing Link." Any course designated with a "W" at the end of the course number will be the same as the one described in the Undergraduate Catalog (e.g., ENG 101W is the same as ENG 101), except that it is part of the Writing Links program and, we feel, enhanced by virture of its being linked to another course. It depends on when you drop the class(es). Students who drop classes prior to the beginning of a semester incur no liability for those classes. Students who drop classes during the first week of the Fall or Spring semesters (based upon the official first day of classes for that semester, regardless of when the first class is held) incur liability for the college fee.
