If the manufacturer of the receiver provides a means to control the volume, we provide that capability with the SWL IR Remote. Currently the only receivers that permit volume control with the SWL IR Remote are the ICOM R75 and the Japan Radio NRD-545. Some scanner receivers can only be muted with the SWL IR Remote.

Squeezebox will respond to the infrared signals intended for a JVC DVD player. The instructions that came with your remote control tell you how to program your remote to send these codes. All selection and level is done either on the front panel or at the remote; never both locations. Connecting just a VR 1 to the CP 64 or 52 remote control terminals will allow level adjustment. However without a source selector the unit will default to source one. The SGT250 (as well as the SJT300, SKT300, and JCPenney 685-5705) used an analog infrared remote whose signal was decoded on the basis of its frequency. Most universal remotes use digital infrared signals, which these models of CED players can't decode. So even if you have a trainable universal remote, it still won't be able to understand the signals from the VideoDisc remote.

In all versions of CoCASA prior to 3.0 you will only see assessments that are tied to your user logon account. You will not be able to see assessments on the Assessment Setup screen that were entered or imported using a different user logon. The SWL IR Remote replaces the optional Lowe keypad (KPAD-1) and connects to the KEYPAD jack on the radio. This optional keypad allowed frequencies to be entered up to 5 digits in kHz format. A frequency of 5960kHz would be entered on the keypad as 0 5 9 6 0. There is no way to enter a frequency with any values below 1kHz. You could not enter 5960.100Hz.
