The ISO/TS 16949: 2002 does not replace AVSQ (Italy), EAQF (France), QS-9000 (USA) or VDA6.1 (Germany). The document represents an option for suppliers. Clients certified to QS-9000 will therefore have until 14th December 2006 to upgrade to ISO/TS16949:2002 although this may be subject to specific vehicle manufacturer requirements.
