It is impossible for the admission authorities in US Universities to have reliable and up-to-date information on the relative merits of the certificates/degrees/marks/grades awarded by these diverse universities.

In India, GRE, GMAT and TOEFL are held only in the Computer-Adaptive Test (CAT) format, and not in the paper-based format. Initially, we advise an international applicant to attach photocopies of his/her score reports with the application, but official reports issued by ETS will be required before full processing of that application will take place. Some graduate programs in the College of Education will accept the Millers Analogy Test (MAT) instead of a GRE score. It is important that you contact the department about their admission requirements to determine if this test or other tests are required. Additionally, some programs require the GRE subject test. For foreign applications, we require a TOEFL score of 600. While your GRE score is important, we have no specific cut-off for GRE scores, and consider the GRE score to be just one part of your overall application. These tests do help but are not mandatory as far as the admission into a university or college is concerned. However, the students, whose academic records are not good, they may take these tests to support their claim for admission.

Indian Universities do not insist for the above scores. However, since the academic programmes are taught in English, proficiency in English is a must. You should have studied for qualifying examination in English or English should have been one of the subjects.
