According to this fellows you can. You need to use DVRedit to cut the commercial out and create a new DVR file, and then use DVR2WMV to convert the file to divx format. Both tools are available here. You open the file you want to edit, cut the commercials and burn to dvd using one single interface.

Shorten (extension .shn) is an audio compression scheme written by Tony Robinson of SoftSound that can compact wav files without subtracting out any frequencies. It's "lossless"- everything in the original wav is there, so that full quality is maintained. ASF (Advanced Streaming Format) is a streaming media format developed by Microsoft. ASF files can contain video, audio, slide shows and synchronized events. A variety of codecs can be used to create ASF files. The end user must have the same codec installed to view the file.

There is no way to select a specific audio track during playback in Media Center. It is only possible to pre-configure which one to use. By default the first one is used. See above for instructions on how to configure the preferred language for audio streams in Haali Media Splitter.

Windows Media Player can play files in a wide variety of digital media file formats, but Windows Media Services cannot stream all of those files. Servers running Windows Media Services 9 series can stream files that are in the Microsoft Windows Media Audio (WMA), Windows Media Video (WMV), Advanced Systems Format (ASF) and Motion Picture Experts Group (MPEG)-1 Layer 3 (MP3) formats. However for MP3 format, Windows Media Services does not support variable-bit-rate .mp3 files.

The TLS supports all common audio formats, including WAV, BWAVE, AIFF, SDII, . MP3, and MP4/AAC. It can also support most soft sampler formats, such as EXS and NKI.

The digital portfolio specialists cannot check out books or magazines, and the Journalism Media Center assistants cannot help you with a digital portfolio. The Journalism Media Center operates during the day. The DPC occupies the facilities at night.

It depends upon the Hi-MD equipment, but it appears that all Hi-MD equipment introduced so far will record in all Hi-MD (PCM, Hi-SP, Hi-LP) and original-MD (SP, LP2, LP4) modes. Recordings made in the original-MD modes are only possible on std-MD disks formatted in the original (160MB) mode.
