We will print with whatever dpi is approved on your files. We recommend that you submit black and white bitmap images scanned at least at 600 dpi, grayscale images at 300 dpi, and full-color photos at 300 dpi for the best possible quality. The resolution of printed text and images is measured in dots per inch, or DPI. The print resolution for a piece can range from 300 DPI to 1200 DPI, and sometimes more, depending on the level of detail required.

Many printers now printing learned letterpress in high school using "General Printing" by Glen U. Cleeton and Charles W. Pitkin (Bloomington, IL: McKnight & McKnight Publishing Company, 1941-1963) or Polk & Polk's "The Practice of Printing" (Peoria, IL: The Manual Arts Press, 1937-1945). There are three main kinds of ink: oil-based, rubber-based, and acrylic. Any of these will do for letterpress printing. You can even use offset ink (which is usually oil-based, but can be rubber-based).

In general, we use the following label production methods: flexography, digital thermal, digital ink-based, silk screening and lithography. Each of these methods has different processes for printing your ink colors. We offer CMYK or process color/4 color printing and spot or PMS - Pantone Matching System printing. Digital printing and thermal ribbon printing "interpret" color values for printing on their unique equipment.

That depends on what you are scanning. Magazine images should not be scanned at much over 100 dpi, because the ink dots used in the image are about that size (anyone know exactly?) and you will get pre-dithered images if you use a finer scanner setting. Newspapers are coarser still, and I wouldn't try anything finer than 60 dpi.

Photos should be scanned at 300dpi or better if possible. While 72dpi is great for the web or email, there is not enough resoulution for a quality Throw
