What are rotor startup/shutdown speeds?

quietrevolution
The QR5 is a 'lift-type' turbine and needs to operate at a specific tip-speed ratio to produce maximum power. If the control system determines that sufficient wind exists for operation, the turbine is actively spun-up to operating conditions at which point it enters lift-mode and starts extracting energy from the wind. It will self-maintain in a steady wind of 4.0/4.5m/s. The turbine will brake in high wind events of speeds over 12m/s and shut down at continuous speeds over 16m/s.

Where are the startup/shutdown screens?

Windows 666: frequently asked questions
You must remember that the LOGO?.SYS files are sometimes hidden - check if this option is enabled on Windows Explorer, then check again if the *.SYS files are indeed in the C:\Program Files\Plus!\Themes\Bandname\ folder. Finally, set up the screens as explained on the README.TXT included in the theme file. Remember to backup the original screen files!!!

How to run custom startup/shutdown script upon full system boot?

KUDOS Unofficial Kubuntu FAQ
Name your post-boot script as -e.g.- "zzboot" or something similar which sorts last. If you need to run several scripts, then call them all from within "zzboot". Copy it to /etc/init.d directory, make sure that it is executable, then make it part of boot process so as to run it last while booting up, and first while shutting down: sudo cp zzboot /etc/init.d sudo chmod +x /etc/init.d/zzboot sudo update-rc.

What about Logoff, Startup, and Shutdown scripts in Group Policy?

Logon Script FAQ
Group Policy can also be used to assign Logoff, Startup, and Shutdown scripts. The Logoff script setting in Group Policy is "User Configuration", "Windows Settings", "Scripts (Logon/Logoff)", "Logoff". Similar to the Logon script setting, it applies to all users in the domain, site, or organizational unit that the GPO is assigned to. Startup and Shutdown scripts are in "Computer Configuration", "Windows Settings", "Scripts (Startup/Shutdown)".

What is a shutdown?

When the world is comming to a temporary end, Armageddon appears bringing destruction to all and everything. Your character will be saved but most equipment is lost. After a few minutes you will be able to connect to Genesis again.

In which startup file do I put...?

Z-Shell Frequently-Asked Questions
When zsh starts up, there are four files you can change which it will run under various circumstances: .zshenv, .zprofile, .zshrc and .zlogin. They are usually in your home directory, but the variable $ZDOTDIR may be set to alter that. Here are a few simple hints about how to use them.

If a rotor produces less drag the slower it rotates, why don't you just stop the rotor?

CarterCopter FAQ on CarterAviationTechnologies.com
A stopped rotor would probably not produce any less drag than a slowly turning rotor when all factors are considered, and it has several disadvantages. Rotor blade centrifugal force (CF) provides a moment (force times a lever arm) that counters the blade lift to keep the blades from rising up excessively. As the rotor slows down, at some point there will not be enough CF to handle the blade lift on the advancing blade. This will cause the rotor to flap excessively.

Which way do the thrust bearings go in the rotor head?

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes the thrust bearing races are close to the same size. The easiest way to tell which one has the larger inside diameter is to place them on the spindle shaft and rock them back and forth. The one that moves the most is the one that needs to go toward the center of the rotor. The other one with the smaller inside diameter goes toward the blade.

Is there any slop in the tail rotor pitch linkage?

FAQ - Dmoz/Recreation/Aviation/Model_Aviation/Radio_Controll...
Is the tail drivetrain slipping? This is common with the LMH-100 series, and with helicopters that use belt-drive tails.

Is the tail rotor output shaft straight?

FAQ - Dmoz/Recreation/Aviation/Model_Aviation/Radio_Controll...
Is your gyro mounting foam correct for the gyro you are using? The CSM gyro, for example, works best with the foam it is shipped with, which is different than anything else out there.

How do I knw the rotor blades are on at the right angles?

FAQ - Dmoz/Recreation/Aviation/Model_Aviation/Radio_Controll...
Actually, this is not something you need to worry about (as long as you have the leading edge facing the right direction!). Once the rotors start spinning, centrifugal force will pull the blades into their proper positions. You will usually see the helicopter start to wobble as you spin up the blades, then smooth out. The wobble comes from the imbalanced caused by different blade lead/lag angles, and the smoothness comes when the blades have both been pulled into position.

What is a floating rotor?

FAQs - STaSIS Engineering Audi Tuning and Alcon Brake inform...
A floating rotor has oblong holes instead of straight holes cut into the rotor flange to allow for thermal expansion. In comparison, a floating hat uses a hat with slots cut into it and a straight hole in the rotor flange. In order to provide a quiet street worthy brake system, our floating rotors incorporate an anti-rattle system that keeps tension on the rotor and hat thus eliminating any rattle, while still allowing for proper thermal expansion.

Is my rotor watertight?

Norm's FAQS - frequently asked questions
NO! All rotors are designed to be mounted only one way and that is facing up. For those who have a fold-over tower, the rotor must be removed if the tower is going to be left in the folded over position. On the CDE/HyGain rotors there is a tongue and groove connection and, when in the horizontal position, water is allowed over this connection and the rotor will fill up with water. Since nothing inside is protected, everything will rust very quickly. On the HD73 rotor there is an up and a down.

What is a rotor? What types are there?

Welcome to Irrigation Solution : Lawn sprinkler, sprinkler c...
Rotors are sprinklers that shoot a jet of water. The stream is moved back and forth across the area to be watered. Over a period of time, the water distribution is uniform. Rotors usually have a relatively low precipitation rate, so one station of rotors can cover a large area. There are single stream rotors, multi-stream rotors, full circle and part-circle arc rotors. The best rotors are gear driven rotors. Avoid impact rotors because the open cases cause big reliability problems.

Is there a way to minimize the program on startup?

Team Discovery TSC FAQ - dslreports.com
There sure is! Right click on the tray icon and select properties. In the menu that opens, select the General Tab. Uncheck the box that says "Launch Main Window on Startup" and the Agent will start up minimized from now on.

Why do I get "setgid: Invalid argument" at startup?

Apache Server Frequently Asked Questions
Your Group directive (probably in conf/httpd.conf) needs to name a group that actually exists in the /etc/group file (or your system's equivalent). This problem is also frequently seen when a negative number is used in the Group directive (e.g., "Group #-1"). Using a group name -- not group number -- found in your system's group database should solve this problem in all cases.

Why do I experience shutdown problems with the kX Mixer?

FAQ
This is a known issue with Windows 2000 / Windows XP. See Microsoft support site for details. Windows 2000 users are advised to install the latest Service Pack - this has reportedly solved the shut-down problem for many kX users.
