Depending on your circumstances we would either listen regularly with a sonicaid similar to the one used by the midwife at your antenatal appointments. Or in some circumstances we would put you on continuous monitoring that would give us a constant recording of the baby's heart beat.

The FDA regulates Fetal Doppler ultrasound. No harmful effects on the fetus have ever been reported. The Mayo Clinic says "In 30 years of regular use, no adverse effects have ever been demonstrated from ultrasound testing. Research has been done investigating both the noise produced in utero and the heat produced by ultrasound, and no problems have ever been detected from its use in exposed babies.

The first rule is don't panic. There are many factors you first need to take into consideration. First, how far into your pregnancy are you? By 14 weeks 100% of healthy pregnancies will be able to locate the fetal heartbeat with a baby heartbeat monitor. So if your pregnancy is somewhere between 8-14 weeks you'll just have to be patient. The baby may be in a position where hearing the heartbeat is difficult.

A baby is considered full term if it is born at 38 weeks in gestation or more. Babies born between 35 and 38 weeks may have some breathing or feeding problems but can be cared for by the hospital’s experienced staff. The amount of shift increases with both the velocity and the frequency of the signal in question. On AO-40 Doppler can be as high as 30 KHz on S band.

The xAP protocol specifies a special control message, called a heartbeat. Wherever possible, xAP enabled devices and applications are encourage to broadcast this message periodically to provide a network-wide indication of system health. The heartbeat interval is defined at the discretion of the application developer - it is typically of the order of a 15 secs-5 mins depending on the application. xAP promotes the use of regular heartbeats.

The most important reason is to begin a thorough prevention program. Dental problems can begin early. A big concern is Early Childhood Caries (also know as baby bottle tooth decay or nursing caries). Our drop off time is 7:30 am on Mondays and 8:00 am Tuesday through Thursday. Pets are to be picked back up at 7:30 am the next day, Friday pick ups are at 8:30am. This gives us time to release the animals that have had surgery the day before, then clean and disinfect the kennels. This way, the pets arriving for that day's surgeries will have a freshly cleaned and sanitized bed to sleep in during their stay. We do require that all animals be checked in by the appropriate time.
