Our domes can handle any snow load. Our engineering program will determine the tubing size required for the snow load in your area. We make up to 2 inch diameter frames.

Our products are built to withstand up to 110 mph winds. We install patio covers in Las Vegas and surrounding areas. We get horrible winds, and mini tornadoes (dust devils). Our products have no problem holding up to the winds.

This is a very important question. We have the engineering designs to properly adjust your arbor to accept your local conditions. A modification in the thickness of the awning post spacing, thickness of rafters and mid-span support( which is very rarely used) might be all it would take. Might include such items as adding an extra post. We have aluminum "I" beams and steel C-beams to allow for greater spans.

The greenhouses do well in snow. The greenhouse paneling is slippery so snow frequently just slides off the structure, and low temperatures will not harm the greenhouse plastic. If there is a snow build-up, the greenhouse can support several hundred pounds of pressure. It sure can, it has been tried and tested in Canada for a couple of years now and performs flawlessly. Simply unlock the 4 locks, and lift the cover straight up and off of your truck. All that will remain will be the mounting rails with the torsion bars (coming off of the edges of the mounting rails). If you will be removing the cover for a long period of time, just simply loosen up the clamps and remove the mounting rails so they will be protected.

To include snow loads in the seismic loads generated, input the roof snow load in the Load Generation dialog box when entering roof self-weight. The NBCC Section 4.1.9.1 (2) requires 25% of the snow load to be included as building mass for seismic calculation, so the program includes only 25% of the snow load as building mass. Remember to base the snow load on the horizontal projection of the roof.

The foam a cover's cores are made of is called Expanded Polystyrene and is made of small beads that are expanded with steam. Once expanded they are dried and then "attached together" simply by compressing them. The more pressure they are compressed under, the high the density of the foam. The individual "beads" are waterproof! HOWEVER, water can saturate between the beads. To prevent (actually reduce) water absorption, the foam cores are "sealed" in polyethylene.

We believe the "mesh pad" version of our shoe will inhibit snow packing to a large extent. As an alternative, the central opening in our shoe can be filled with our hoof packing material -- fill it right to near tread-level and we have found the packing will stay there, and will block other things from getting in there.

In the event of heavy snow, snow cleared from the roadway may fall on and cover the trail where it is closer than 10 ft. from the road. Under those circumstances, the City will plow that portion of the trail. In normal snowfall, snow from the roadway should not be an issue.

We've have never experienced a problem during Wisconsin winters, however there is a possibility it could occur during a very heavy snow load. In order to prevent it from collapsing, a temporary "T" brace made out of 2X2's or similar should work on the 4X4 single blynd. You want to be able to wedge it in place from the floor to the roof. The 4X8 double wide will need 2 supports on the inside perimeter. There is a metal roof support in the middle.

We, like almost all insulating spa cover manfacturers, use Expanded PolyStyrene (EPS) foam as the core of our covers. We do this because EPS is actually very strong and energy efficient when compared to its weight. The weakness in EPS is that it will eventually gain weight as it gets waterlogged. EPS is block-molded. Small beads are expanded into a chamber and infused with steam. When the steam is withdrawn the beads have been molded into a block the size of the chamber.
