If you have a firewall that does not auto configure the download manager when you installed it and need to manually open the required ports; If you are not sure how to manually configure your firewall you will need to consult the FAQ or support for your installed firewall program. Our support staff unfortunately does not have the knowledge base to assist users with the huge variety of firewalls or proxies nor to take the responsibility in assisting you to open the security of your computer.

If your Internet connection is blocked by a non-NAT firewall (such as some business environments) then you will need to open up port 4569 UDP in order to allow Freshtel Internet Phone to work.

On the SRB server server-side, you must open the port that the srbMaster is listening on, plus a set of 100 or so configurable data ports (described below). A download manager is a software program that helps you manage your downloads. It lets you pause and resume your downloads anytime you want without starting all over again. It's especially useful when your internet connection suddenly cut off, because you can resume the download when it's up again. It also allows you to schedule and queue your downloads plus many other useful functions.

Download managers and accelerators generally do not work with our application because we use cookies and redirection.

Adobe Download Manager helps you manage the process of downloading Adobe Reader software and other Adobe files. Adobe Download Manager uses up resources on your computer and is not required by www.tradesecrets.gov.ab.ca. We recommend that you check off “Do not use Adobe Download Manager”.

Akeni LAN Messenger Client uses one inbound TCP port and two inbound UDP port, and these needs to be opened in your firewall or IP Filter. The TCP ports can be changed via the login screen by pressing the "Options" button. This port is used to listen for incoming connections from other clients. The same port value is also used to open up an UDP port that is used internally by the application for inter-thread communication, and that port needs to be open to allow for a connectiong from localhost.

The server uses one inbound TCP port and several inbound UDP port. The TCP port is always required, and it can be changed by specifying it as the first command line parameter when launching the server. You can see it's current value by looking for the line "server port(xxxxx)" in the server's output. One optional UDP port is used for IP multicasting so that clients running on the same LAN can find the server automatically.

If the client has problem finding the server on your LAN then there may be a firewall problem. Under Redhat Linux you can use "service iptables stop" or "service ipchains stop" to temporarily disable the firewall to see if that is the cause of the connection problem. Please make sure that your computer is not connected directly to the Internet while you are trying this.

Normally when you double-click on a file in the right-hand list, it is displayed in a separate browser window. However, if you hold down shift while double-clicking, your browser should prompt you to save the file instead. In Webmin versions 0.966 and above, you can also download by selecting the file and clicking on the Save button in the top-left corner of the file manager.
