If one litre of Brecon Carreg is heated to 180oC all volatiles and combustibles are driven off. What remains behind is classed as the dry residue. The residue refers to a chemical procedure to measure the mineralization. In normal circumstances these minerals are in solution in the Natural Mineral Water; are consumed along with it, and processed by the body. There is no residue left behind in the bottle.

The typical analysis is the quantity of the reported minerals found in the natural mineral water. During the process to achieve mineral water status the water is tested by an external laboratory over all the seasons of a two year period.
