The main difference between the two degrees has to do with the level of specialization attained in your field. A master's degree provides less opportunity for specialization and little research training. Master's programs generally require the completion of 30 credits of coursework beyond the bachelor's degree and either a final, comprehensive exam or a written thesis (usually 50 to 100 pages in length).

This really depends on your ultimate career goal. If you want to become a university professor, qualified to teach undergraduates and graduate students, and do research and publish in your field of expertise, you must obtain the doctorate (Ph.D.). If your goal is to become, say, a social worker, a practicing speech pathologist, or a high school teacher, you should obtain a master's degree, which will prepare you to become licensed and/or certified in fields such as these.

While most students enter doctoral programs directly from undergraduate studies, it is not uncommon for students first to obtain a master's degree in their discipline. Some doctoral programs prefer students without previous graduate study, but others, such as Clinical Psychology, may prefer their students to have either a master's degree or a substantial number of graduate credits in the field. It is best to check with each school to which you are applying for their policy and advice.

If you have motivation and involvement on research, you can join for the doctorate course. You have to choose a topic for research and give a synopsis for the research topic along with your application for admission. Mentor appointed by the University will guide your research work. The duration depend the students ability and scholarly outlook and efforts taken. Most of our students finish their research work within 12 to 15 months period.

The Program is in the process of transitioning to a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT). Although the date for this process is uncertain, it is our goal to begin the DPT curriculum in Fall 2008. Tuition is planned to increase with inception of the DPT curriculum, to an amount comparable to that of other regional, public DPT programs. The graduate program does not offer a "terminal" masters degree. Following successful completion of your course work and general examination, you may apply to the registrar's office to receive a masters degree en route to completion of your doctorate. The A.M. program is available to a small number of experienced musicians who are preparing or engaged in careers as performers and performance teachers and for whom a PhD is not appropriate.

A Doctorate degree ranges form a 5-7 year program depending on the length of research. The Doctorate degree is generally pursued after one completes the Master’s program. A few exceptional students secure admissions into a PhD. Program without having a Master’s degree. This depends on the students academic profile, number of years of work experience and if the candidate has pursued any research oriented work in the past few years.

We will only consider students who have completed a bachelors degree for the masters or doctorate degrees. There are fundamental basics that are covered in the bachelors that are not repeated in the higher level courses. Without this foundation, you would be lost. We are willing however to review an applicants request to move to a higher level course depending on their level of maturity and past ministry study and experience.

The second Doctorate degree costs $400 more beyond the full tuition cost of your first three degrees.

For example, most Master's courses require you to write a dissertation of 15,000 - 20,000 words at the end of their course. Diplomas on the other hand are often the same course as the Master's but without the dissertation. They also act as a bridging course between the Diploma and the Master's.

The Master in Finance (MSF) program is shorter in duration and strictly focuses on increasing a student’s understanding of finance and financial markets. The MBA curriculum is more diverse and covers aspects of Operations, Marketing and Human and Organizational Performance that will not be dealt with in the MSF curriculum. Yes. Successful completion of the EMIL program results in a regular Master of Science in International Logistics from Georgia Tech.

Not usually. We only support predoctoral training, not graduate work leading to a master's degree. The exception would be for a physician or a PhD supported by a grant (like an F32 or K-award) which would allow tuition payment for a master's degree or, for minority students, a minority supplement.

Both types of degrees are considered earned doctoral degrees (as are Ed.D, Sc.D, etc). The Au.D degree includes a general curriculum in the field of audiology, and essentially prepares doctoral candidates in clinical/professional issues. The Ph.D is typically a more narrow field of interest degree, and includes in-depth research in a particular area of interest.

I'm working on basically my doctoral dissertation deals with the area of evolution education, and specifically I'm looking at basically students reactions how-- how students react, how students believe and so and so forth when they're taught the scientific information both in terms of supporting and challenging macroevolution.

We do not offer degrees based on life-work, as do some institutions. If you have already successfully undertaken courses identical to those listed in our Syllabus, provide the transcript of marks to the Dean of Admissions and you may receive exemption from retaking the course with us.

There is no general requirement for a Master's degree, although if you are interested in employment at a specific laboratory, you should contact the director of the laboratory to determine what they require. A Master's degree in forensic science, biochemistry, biology, chemistry, medical technology, or a closely related field may substitute for experience and are useful for career advancement. Again, contact the specific laboratory to inquire if this is their policy.

Approximately 50% of all EMIL participants already have an MBA. In contrast to an MBA, EMIL incorporates engineering, technology and business management disciplines into its curriculum. Successful EMIL participants learn to improve supply chain efficiencies and then how to translate thoese efficiencies into bottom line financial results.

Ans. All Master's degrees require 36 SH credits, except the Master of Theological Studies which requires 60 SH credits.
