This is probably because when you installed Mesa-3.0, you did a: cd /usr/local/Mesa-3.0/ cp -r -d include/GL /usr/local/include and the files located in include/GL were copied to /usr/local/include, rather than /usr/local/include/GL. This is why my instructions above tell you to do the following: mkdir /usr/local/include/GL cp -d include/GL/* /usr/local/include/GL/ so that the files will be copied to the GL directory.
