Students often ask what should they pay if they wish to retain their accommodation during holiday breaks. There are no set rules to cover this and, as has been mentioned several times, you should always discuss this before moving in. The Housing Service recommends you do not pay more than 50% of the rent for non-teaching or mid-year breaks.

Any day on snow is a holiday from the real world. For the purpose of pricing and restrictions, Mountain Creek defines the following dates as Holiday Periods: Tuesaday, December 25, 2007 through Wednesday, January 2, 2008; Monday, January 14, 2008; and Monday, February 18, 2008 through Friday, February 22, 2008.

Payments are mailed weekly. The CCBill.com pay period runs from Sunday through Saturday, with checks going out not the following Monday, but the Monday after that - a 9-day time delay.

We have tried to make this as simple as possible. If you are in the Montreal area, we typically like to meet in person, sign a rental lease agreement and we require a deposit of half to reserve the cottage. The balance is due the first day of rental - we meet you at the cottage when you arrive. If meeting is inconvenient or you are out of town, we can make all of the arrangements either by phone or email.

You receive 5 days paid 'teachers holiday' around New Year and 'Songkran' (an extended holiday period in the middle of April) plus about 13-15 paid national holidays. All other leave is unpaid.

The balance of monies payable for your stay is expected 4 weeks prior to your arrival. This will be automatically deducted from the same credit used to make the booking deposit 4 weeks prior to arrival. In the small number of cases where cheque or money order has been used for payment, the cheque should arrive 4 weeks prior to date of arrival. Please note We can not guarantee the booking until the cheque cleared.

You will generally be required to put down a deposit for your holiday when you make your booking and then usually you will be required to make full payment 8 weeks before departure depending on the tour operator. These timings do vary according to the particular holiday you have booked, but we keep you advised of the date when the full balance is due.

Peak Periods are Christmas/New Year, January, Easter, all school holiday times in April, July and September. Remember, Australian school holiday periods are very similar to New Zealand. Shoulder seasons are February and March, and October through to Christmas. The ski season in Queenstown and Wanaka for July/August/September is another busy period for those locations.
