Within the TAFE system, a mature-age student is 18 years of age, or over, and has been out of full time schooling for at least 12 months. Mature-age applicants are not required to have completed or attempted a Year 12 qualification.

A student who has not graduated from high school but has been admitted on the basis of relevant experience. To win Mature Student status, you must also meet BCIT's English-language requirements and possess any specific course prerequisite required for program entrance. To be considered a Mature Age Student you must be 20 years or over before 1st March for entry into first semester or 1st August if commencing second semester of the year in which you intend to study. Age is only an issue when meeting entry requirements for Australian students. If you are over 20, you can take the STAT test or mature age TEE to meet entry requirements.

To be considered as a mature age student (non-school leaver), you must have met the prerequisites at either Year 12 or tertiary level and you must have sat the UMAT in the last two years. Your application will also be assessed on any full time study within the past five years and your UMAT result, a High Distinction/Distinction average (75%) is normally required. Applications should be made via VTAC.

Generally, Flat-share accommodation is more suitable for younger persons as the flats have a shared bathroom and kitchen and are occupied with younger students, however in most cases, if you are willing to accept the style of accommodation, we can try and assist you. If not, there is always some hostels that can accept people of any ages.

A mature student is a person who is 19 years of age or older on the start date of the program and who does not have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). The Mature Student Pre-Admission Assessment Test is designed to measure the basic academic skills of adults who have been out of school for some time. The results will indicate if the applicant has the skills and aptitude to successfully complete the program of choice.

Immediate supervision means that you ride with the child and that you control his or her movements on the bike. Children are very unpredictable on bicycles. They tend to be unaware of the dangers of cyclists and cars all around them. Always ride immediately behind and slightly to the left of your child. Never ride anywhere near a child who is not yours. Minors 16 and 17 years old with a valid drivers license can drive their vehicle (bike) on the roads alone.

Monash do not have any age restrictions on students entering the program. All students must meet an educational entrance requirement.

If you will be 25 or older at the time of registration and do not quite meet all of the prerequisites for BEDS admission, you may be offered a position based on alternate qualifications.

Anyone eighteen years old and older can join. We have members who are also in their 40's and 50's who routinely participate and are an integral part of our organization.

There is a range of qualifications that may be considered, depending on the University. Usually the Access to Health or Science, or an A level (science-related) are recommended pre-entry courses, although many Universities will consider other options such as professional qualifications. Students must submit transcripts of any post-secondary work that they have completed for the purpose of prerequisite checks, and a r?sum? of both academic and other activities (employment, service, etc.) for the past three years.

If you are 23 years of age on or before 1 Jan you qualify as a mature student for admission in the following academic year.

Please see the Mature Students page for details of mature student application. Between 13-15% of students at NUI Maynooth are mature students, currently ranging in age from 23 to 75 years old. There are various foundation courses and access courses run by different institutions that are recommended for mature students in preparation for third Level. NUI Maynooth have a Return to Learning course, 2 mornings a week, which is an excellent preparation for a degree course in the Arts.

We welcome applications from mature students. Such applicants are advised to contact the Admissions Tutor to discuss what preparatory courses would be appropriate before making a formal application through UCAS.

A Mature Student is one who does not have the academic qualifications to be considered, i.e., no high school diploma. Music students have to be 21 years of age as of September 1 and must still have official transcripts sent in support of their application.
