The Monoblock LNB (for Astra 19.2 degrees east and Eutelsat Hot Bird at 13 degrees east) has the degree separation already pre-built. The Eutelsat feed should be the prime focus aligned LNB (as per the diagram). Our Monoblock LNBs have DiSEqC (automatic LNB switching) in-built, therefore no additional DiSEqC switching equipment is required.

Typically, LNBs are bolted to the feedhorn. You would need to unbolt the old LNB and connect the new one using your old bolts or ones that are provided. It is a good idea to use coax cable seal after you install the new LNB. On an older system the new LNB may not fit on your feedhorn. Older LNBs were larger and to fit them under the feedhorn cover a 90 degree elbow was installed to lay the LNB flat. If you remove this 90 degree elbow your new LNB will bolt directly to the feedhorn.

LNB stands for Low Noise Block downconverter. An LNB detects the signal relayed from the feed, converts it to an electrical current, amplifies it and lowers its frequency. The downconverted signal is relayed via coax cable to an indoor satellite receiver or DVB card. You have analogue LNBs with a frequencies range from 10.950 to 11.700 GHz and Universal (digital) LNBs, which cover our frequency, range up to 12.75 GHz.

A Dual LNB is just two LNB's...each connection can operate independently of each other so you can have two receivers each looking at different stations on different transponders. They both look at the same satellite (101 Degree satellite). A single LNB only has one coax connection and cannot be used with more than 1 DirectTV receiver.

You can check whether your LNB is digital or not by looking at the frequency range, which is usually written on the LNB. When your LNB is digital this frequency range goes up to 12.75 GHz. If it is analogue this frequency range only goes up to 11.75 GHz.
