Wax helps to create a barrier between the bracket and the inside of your cheeks and lips. It helps prevent the bracket from irritating your cheeks or gums. At first you will probably use a lot of dental wax, but as your get used to your braces and the insides of your cheeks "toughen up" you may wind up using less.

To use dental wax, break off a tiny bit of wax from the container, smoosh it with your fingers a bit to mold it, then place it directly on the bracket that is causing the irritation, as shown in this photo. Dental wax is non-toxic, so it's ok if you swallow it. Wax tends to break down over time, so you'll probably have to apply more after eating a meal. Take off the wax before you brush your teeth, or it will gunk up your toothbrush. Dental silicone, such as Ortho-Sil is a little different.

Yes and no. You can use a regular soft toothbrush, but most orthodontists recommend an orthodontic-cut toothbrush, where the bristles in the middle are lower than the bristles on the edges and cut into a "v" shape. You can also use any electric toothbrush, such as a Sonicare or Oral-B Braun. These do an especially good job of cleaning your teeth. To floss your teeth, you don't necessarily need special floss.

When waxing for the first time you must have at least ¼ inch of hair growth. DO NOT SHAVE for two weeks prior to your waxing appointment. While everyone is different generally every 4 to 6 weeks is the average time.

Braces (also called orthodontic appliances) can be as inconspicuous—or as noticeable—as you like. Brackets—the part of the braces that attach to each tooth—are smaller and can sometimes be attached to the back of the tooth, making the brackets less noticeable. Brackets may be made of metal, ceramic, plastic or a combination of these materials. Some brackets are clear or tooth-colored.

Toothbrush bristles tend to wear down quicker when they come into contact with orthodontic braces as they tend to break down and fracture bristles. However, toothbrushes such as the Gum® Orthodontic Brush are specifically designed to facilitate cleaning around orthodontic braces. Instead of a raised centre, they have shorter centre bristles that form a "V" shape, which allows for normal cleaning around the braces.

It's probably best not to use a whitening toothpaste until after your braces come off. If you use a whitening toothpaste on a daily basis, the teeth underneath the brackets may not be as white as the rest of your teeth when your braces come off!

Yes, all EVS braces are non-corrosive and will function in most water application. If you wish to use our products in salt water, be sure to rinse the brace and its components after each us to remove any salt or debris that may remain.

You can, of course. Most people choose electrolysis because it is permanent and they do not want to be bothered with the continued expense and/or time required by temporary methods. They also want clear skin, unblemished by nicks, scrapes, ingrown hairs, new hair growth, and/or wiry or bleached hair.

Wax which is used on floor finishes that actually contain wax should never be used, our product is designed to be "maintenance free".

When making our container candles, we use our special secret Paraffin blend of wax which almost has the consistency of Crisco. Our creamy blend of wax has many advantages, one being the amount of fragrance we can add to this wax, it has a very high fragrance load which makes for extremely highly scented candles. Another great advantage of this wax is that container candles require a low melting point to burn off the wax and not leave a ring of unburned wax around the inside of the container.

Use only a quality spray wax, without silicone, and spray onto the cloth and not directly onto the furniture. The finish is protected and the natural beauty is maintained the more often this is done.

home we use Linseed Wax on our furniture once a quarter. The furniture looks better than when we used pure Beeswax (because the linseed oil in the wax sinks into the wood while the Beeswax remains on the surface. We wax our floorboards every six months.

We use the finest quality of container wax available in our candles. It is a low burn wax so your candles burn longer than most others. It is a soft, creamy consistency so the scent molecules attach throughout the melting process creating a stronger scent that remains throughout the candle. The soft wax also allows the dye molecules to attach better so your candle will not fade over time.

That's easy--ease of use! Without a wick, the only way to melt a stick of wax is with a double boiler or a Bunsen burner. Both of these are difficult and more expensive methods. A wick provides the ease to be able to create a beautiful wax seal in seconds without any added tools.

Ear wax (cerumen) is normal in healthy ears. The purpose of cerumen is to moisturize and protect the skin of the ear canal and to trap dust and particles before they reach the ear drum. Cerumen is formed in the outer part of the ear canal. Normally, wax makes its way to the outer opening of the ear canal, flakes up, and falls out.

Some people have more wax then others. Earwax is okay unless it blocks the ear canal and causes a hearing loss. We do not recommend cleaning your ears at home. It is wise to see a physician for ear cleaning.

A warm salt water rinse, several times per day, can be very soothing. But if that isn't enough, try a mouth rinse called Rincinol PRN, which helps to heal mouth sores.
