This is a unique feature of EagleView BIG Aerial photo prints. We included this map grid as a reference grid to make it very easy for people to find specific land parcels based on legal descriptions. Without it, it can be difficult for people to know where they are unless they know the territory real well. We also included the section number labels in easy to see yellow.

The US Public Land Survey (USPLS) was used to survey and subdivide lands starting in the 1800's. A standard "Township" is a 6 mile x 6 mile square composed of 36 one mile square sections. The "Township" is defined by a north or south Township number and an east or west Range number from a set reference line. Note that "Township" refers both to the north/south descriptor and the 6x6 unit described by a pair of Township and Range descriptors.

Section/Township/Range (STR) is a surveyed rectangular land grid system that covers most of the United States. A township is the measure of units north or south of a baseline, the horizontal line where the survey began. A Range is the measure of units east or west of a meridian, the vertical line where the survey began. Each Township/Range is thirty-six square miles, measuring 6 miles by 6 miles, and contains 36 one-mile square sections.

This question comes up a lot. The grid layout looks like the illustration below. The minimum length is 40 and the maximum is 60 inches. The only thing that sticks to the glass is the heating element. Clear View Defrosters operate on 12 Volts DC. The amperage is relative to the size of the grid so each installation varies. The range is from 8 to 16 amps.

The aerial images were originally derived from USGS 1 meter DOQQ. Significant enhancements were made to improve the quality and visual appeal of the images. These improvements included tonal balancing and contrast enhancement between adjacent photo tiles to avoid a light - dark patchwork appearance that you would otherwise get. The result is a virtually seamless BIG Aerial map that looks like it was taken as one photo instead of dozens of separate lighter/darker photos stitched together.

Yes. This is one of the truly unique features of getting your custom map from us. YOU decide both what size print you want and at what scale. Scale is the distance on the hard copy map (inches) versus the distance on the ground (miles). You do not pay by the square mile. Instead, pricing is based on print size. So, you have the choice of high detail ground features with less square miles fit into your map, or lower detail ground features with more miles fit into your map.

You can get latitude/longitude by hovering your mouse over the area and looking at lat/long in your bottom status bar. If you can't see the coordinates at the bottom of the window you will need to do the following: Open Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, click Internet Options, and then click the Security tab. Refresh your browser window.

The map is 22 meters x 15 meters. It is divided into rectangular slabs whose thickness varies from 3cm to almost 10cm. Some fragments are as large as are only a few centimeters long, others are more than a meter long and weigh several hundred kilograms.

The Township and Range feature may need to be installed on your machine if you have the Colorado, Idaho, Montana (6 disk set), New Mexico or Wyoming (4 disk set). Township and Range are not available for the Texas set. Look for placename updates at http://www.alltopo.com/updates/ Press the 'Find Place' button (Binoculars Place). Type in the Township Range you are looking for. For example: to search for Township 2 North Range 23 E type in "T2NR23E".

Use our companion program QuakeMap (free or full edition) to prepare own maps. If you request an aerial map via MapAdvisor support, give us 24h to prepare a map for you and send you a link for download. If you have the evaluation license, you can request maps up to 3 times. QuakeMap 3.5 has a menu option at PDA->"PDA Memory Card Map Wizard" that allows you to create 8-level zoom maps.

Township maps can be purchased from the Township Administration Offices at 616 Germantown Pike at a cost of $4.00.

To print out a map from the screen right click the mouse and choose the print option from the toolbar.

There are three paper size options: 8 1/2 x 11 landscape; 8 1/2 x 14 landscape; and 11 x 17 landscape). The user can add a title, a subtitle and comments to the print layout. Click on the "preview" button at the bottom of the screen and then click on "File > Print" within the preview screen. For more information on projection, select to the "Data Set Description" button at the top of the page for each orthoimagery data set.
