The goal of virtualCART security is to achieve one thing: Deliver credit card information from the customer to the merchant with the minimum possibility of exposure to prying eyes. Our primary tool for this is the utilization of secure data encryption. We encrypt the information between the customer and the cart, and then you retrieve credit card information the same way.

For Visa/Mastercard and Discover owners, flip your card over and look at the signature box. You should see either the entire 16-digit credit card number or just the last four digits followed by a special 3-digit code. This 3-digit code is your Card Security Code. View example here.

It is an important new Internet security feature that now appears on the back of most Visa/MasterCard and Discover cards. This new code is a three or four-digit number which provides a cryptographic check of the information embossed on the card. The security code helps validate that the customer placing the online order actually has the credit card in his/her possession, and that the credit/debit card account is legitimate.

If this code is printed on your card, then YES, you must enter the code. Visa, MasterCard, and Discover are now starting to require Internet stores to obtain the security code for all cards that have a code printed on them. In order for this transaction to be accepted and processed, you must enter this code if it's printed on your card. This is done for your protection.

The security code is only printed the card and it is not contained in the magnetic stripe information nor does it appear on sales receipts or billing statements - you must have the card in your possession in order to use this code. Card Security Codes are not raised, so they are not scanned into standard credit card readers. In theory, these numbers are only visible to you.

The CVV code or security code is 3 to 4 digit number on the backside of your credit card. This code provides additional security for your protection.

In an attempt to cut down on credit card fraud, more and more processors and merchants are requiring the security code for online or phone transactions. The security code confirms that you are in possession of the actual card and not just using stolen information. We are transitioning to a credit card processor that requires the security code for all transactions. Ifyour card is missing the code or if it is unreadable, please let the caller know.

Your credit card security code is a code assigned to and displayed on your credit card by the credit card company. We require you to provide this code as an anti-fraud measure that protects you against unauthorized charges. Only a person in possession of the card will have the code as it is not shown on a credit card charge slip nor on your statements.

This is the last three digits that appear on the back of your card, in the top right-hand corner of the signature panel. It is requested as an extra security measure to make sure you're in possession of the card you're enrolling.

The Security Code Card is a new authentication element in addition to an account number, PIN and PowerDirect password. You will be asked to enter values (alphabet or numeric characters) from three different grid coodinates on the Security Code Card.

Security Code Card is delivered in order, and unfortunately we are unable to check status of each delivery. You are able to login Shinsei PowerDirect by the old login method (using account number, PIN and password) for a certain period of time after you receive your Security Code Card to your address registered with the Bank.

As an added security measure, we ask that you enter your Card Security Code number when making purchases from Addgene. The Card Security Code is NOT your PIN. For Visa and MasterCard credit cards, the Card Security Code is located in top right corner of the signature box on the back of the card.
