What is Intermittent Claudication?

Dr. James C. Graham - Family Foot and Ankle Care Provider in...
Intermittent Claudication is a condition caused by arterial insufficiency. The patient may describe pain, tightness, or cramping sensation after walking small to moderate distances. These symptoms are "intermittent" because they occur with exercise and as claudication from the Latin claudictio, meaning to limp.

What is Intermittent Mysteries?

Wyrding Studios: fine art jewelry by Kythryne Aisling
Approximately three times a year, we run a special program where we announce a theme and people can sign up for mystery pieces. Past themes have included Avalon (inspired by Arthurian legend), Shimmer & Shift (stones that change color), Sail the Seven Seas (all things oceanic and piratical) and Wanderlust (inspired by places all over the world). You can learn more about it here.

What do the signal names 'signal 0', 'signal 1', ... mean?

Frequently Asked Questions about PhysioNet
noted in the answers to the previous two questions, signal names recorded in header files describe the signals in each record. In rare cases, however, this information is missing, usually because it was not preserved when the signals were recorded. Names of the form 'signal N' are default signal names used in such cases; they may appear in header files explicitly, or they may be displayed by PhysioToolkit software if no explicit signal names appear in a header file.

How do I turn a stereo signal into a mono signal?

Car Audio Installation FAQs - WikiFAQ - Answers to Frequentl...
Creating a mono signal is often necessary when you are powering a subwoofer by bridging the amplifier. Many people do not realize that bridging an amplifier does not always provide a mono signal - many amplifiers will simply use only one input channel, which means that the subwoofer won't be receiving the full signal. Some amplifiers have a switch that will allow you to combine the left and right channels into a mono signal.

What is the difference between intermittent and continuous duty?

Buy Paper Shredders Online!
Intermittent duty motors are rated for occasional use only. Use of these shredders for more than a few minutes at a time will cause the motor to overheat. An overheated motor may shut down to protect the shredder from damage. Repeated overheating will shorten the shredder's life at the very least, and may cause it to fail. If your shredder overheats, let it cool down for at least 30 minutes before attempting to use it again.

Any ideas as to what could be causing this intermittent problem??

Official XOOPS Website - XOOPS FAQ - Dealing with error mess...
I would suspect the problem is with the your host. Most likely the mysql database is housed on a different server and you're loosing connection at times to the server housing the db. You can use cpanel to look at your db for potential problems. I would also take this time to do a database and site backup and download those to the desktop for safe keeping. I have this problem as well on my shared hosted service. The issue is with Google and Yahoo indexing the site.

How can I isolate intermittent problems?

Network Instruments - Support > FAQs
Expert Observer's Time Interval Analysis of data transmissions is displayed as a "drill down" from any problem identified in the IP/TCP/UDP Experts. Viewing errors by time periods will show whether a problem is sporadic or consistent throughout the day.

Can students be placed on intermittent schedules?

Bureau of Reclamation, Pacific Northwest Region, Employment
An intermittent work schedule is only appropriate when the nature of the work is so sporadic and unpredictable that a tour of duty cannot be scheduled in advance. It is not the intent of the Student Educational Employment Program to have students working in these types of positions. Students can work full or part time schedules, as best meets their needs and the needs of the agency.

What is the nature of hard to find intermittent errors?

Memory Tester Accuracy and Reliability
Temperature related: These are problems that appear only after a few hours of operation inside a hot computer. Typically, they cause an increase in the internal leakage of the DRAM cells or cause "cold soldering" to break contact at high temperature. Our patented Chip Heat test increases the temperature of the modules under tests but we do not reach the 70 degrees Celsius that is achievable only with the heat chamber of an expensive certifying memory tester.

Is the noise intermittent or continuous?

Untitled Document
The Combined Sewer Overflow Project is a 30 year federally mandated program to separate sanitary and storm sewers. The object is to prevent raw sewage from entering our rivers. To find out if your street will be affected by the Combined Sewer Overflow Project (CSO), please contact the CSO hotline at 394-5566. You can also contact the Public Service Department Assistant City Engineer in charge of the project at 483-4455.

What is the format of the signal files?

Frequently Asked Questions about PhysioNet
Many formats are supported. Most signal files are written in "format 212", in which two 12-bit samples are bit-packed into three 8-bit bytes. See signal(5) in the WFDB Applications Guide for details on format 212 and on the other supported formats. To determine which format is used for a given signal file, look in the associated header file. (This is a text file that usually has the same name as the signal file, except for a suffix of .hea instead of .dat.

How can I read signal files?

Frequently Asked Questions about PhysioNet
If you would like to read signal files within a C, C++, Fortran, Java, Perl, or Python program, see the WFDB Programmer's Guide for information on doing this using the WFDB library. Other programming languages supported by SWIG may also be usable with the WFDB library, but have not been tested. Briefly, use isigopen() to open the files, and getvec() to read them.

What is signal conditioning?

PC/104 Embedded Systems FAQ, EBX, Linux, Real Time, data acq...
More generally, signal conditioning is converting a signal from some transducer to whatever your receiving system needs. Frequently it's a matter of amplifying the microvolt or millivolt signals you get from (for instance) a strain gauge to the 10V span you need to get good resolution for your analog to digital converter. However, many transducers give you strange things that you have to convert.

How do I find my own signal on AO-40?

AO-40 FAQ
Check that AO-40 is in range and in the correct mode for the equipment you plan to use. e.g. U/S bands Tune your receiver to the beacon frequency on 2401.323 MHz +/- Doppler shift, and peak this signal by moving your antennas. Next, tune your transmitter to a frequency that corresponds to a quiet area of the transponder. Make sure you stay clear of the beacon! This is important as you will not be popular if you cause QRM to other users or interrupt the telemetry.

Why does ps get signal 17?

procps - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
No ps release has ever had this problem. Most likely your system has been broken into. You might want to install a more recent version of the OS. If you'd rather take your chances, simply upgrade procps.

What are some of the benefits of UWB over a narrowband signal?

Center for Wireless Telecommunications
Signals transmitted below the noise floor can be recovered due to inherent processing gain. These signals will be invisible to narrow band users allowing for more efficient use of the spectrum.

What will interfere with the signal?

DuPage Wireless FAQ's
Anything in the path between you and the base station can block the signal. Especially trees and buildings. If you have a clear, optical, line of sight it will almost certainly work.

What is the signal range?

University Radio Hilo & Campus AM FAQ
Roughly, there seems to be a two-mile range from the UHH Theatre. That means that the UHH Campus to the mall has coverage, but read the caveat below about signal strength.

How strong is the signal?

University Radio Hilo & Campus AM FAQ
This depends on where you are. If you are on campus, it is best in the areas around the Theatre. The UHH campus is mostly covered. The HawCC campus is covered with decent reception; if you have a good radio you can get it better. There are spots around town where the signal is good, and other spots where it does not reach. The signal comes in most clearly away from powerlines.
